The closer market has gotten pretty annoying to scrounge through in-season.
Your options are to "overpay" or plan to dedicate a lot of time to bullpen monitoring.
As a professional bullpen monitor, I don't blame anyone for making choices to avoid that.

Sneaky NL closer that I can pay very little in auction?

Jacob deGrom...it's been an exhausting few years.  How many innings do you expect from him this season?
Brad Johnson
1:37
I've penciled in 155
I don't know if I'll pull the trigger on that bet though
A Brad Penny for your Thoughts

Any musings on the new position player pitching rules? Also, is that in effect for this season?
Brad Johnson
1:38
Yes, it's in effect.
I think in the medium term, we'll see more bad teams carrying a "two-way" player like Ronald Guzman

Graveman closing for White Sox?
Brad Johnson
1:39
I believe so, but there's competition

Switching my strategy, and going starting pitcher twice in the first 3 rounds. Who should I be targeting the most?
Brad Johnson
1:40
In that case, I'd probably aim for hitter, Barnes, deGrom/Strider.

can Trevor Story be dropped in dynasty leagues?
Brad Johnson
1:40
Like the very first question, it depends what dynasty means to you. I don't think so. If we're talking 12 or 10-team, keep less than 15, you probably could without too much regret.

Ahhh Brad, so good to hear your voice again! Is Carroll worth the hype or just a shiny new toy? He's routinely off the board in our 14T H2H OBP before the end of the 2nd...
Brad Johnson
1:42
That's early imo. He could still offer a positive ROI. I'm reminded of early career Mookie Betts.
1:43
Not as a player comp, back in the day of new Mookie, I remember getting mocked for taking him in the 2nd or 3rd round. He was a top 10 player that year
I think that was the year before he went truly wild

Soderstrom or Wells going to stick at catcher or will they strictly be CI options once they reach the show?
Brad Johnson
1:44
I kinda think that depends on how the robo-ump is implemented
1:45
Teams don't really like to suffer poor defensive catchers anymore, and I do think they'll both be pretty fringy
But if catcher framing is mostly out the door, then it matters less

Fried or Strider in a keeper league?
Brad Johnson
1:46
Strider, much as I like Fried as a high floor/high ceiling combo

Volpe first 162 game projections if you had take a guess?  How many of those games are played this year (also if you're just taking a guess)?
Brad Johnson
1:47
Wanna say somewhere in the range of 25/30 .200/.300/.460. Like 120 games this year.
1:48
I might be overprojecting the influence of Yankee Stadium on his profile

Who should I target for steaks?
Brad Johnson
1:48
I like the Highland Tap in Virginia Highlands with Parker's on Ponce as a backup.
1:49
(assuming you meant steals), I like so many guys it's hard to name just a few. Mondesi is going after Jorge Mateo
1:50
Esteury. Really, it's looking like a good year for swipes. Not just the rule changes, we have a lot of real speedsters hitting The Show.

Is it crazy to say that I think Vinnie Pasquantino is a .300/.400/.500 hitter?
Brad Johnson
1:50
Nope. He probably is more in the .285 AVG range as a 50th percentile, but that means he hits .300 like a third of the time.

Mountcastle tends to linger in my mock drafts - Walltimore is a problem but given lack of quality 1B options past the first three rounds, what do you think of platooning him?
Brad Johnson
1:51
I like Mountcastle. Really nice hitting attributes even with the unfavorable home park.
He's a good backup plan in redraft and perfectly fine in dynasty
