Basically, Mahle is more volatile.

My dogs are saying they need something. brb

one keeper from this lot- Gunnar, Witt, Wander.
Brad Johnson
1:25
Oof, that's a shame. I think the right answer is Witt.

My 8 fantasy keepers need to be set soon. For sure keeping Julio Rodriguez, Jazz Chisholm, Fernando Tatis, Michael Harris, Teoscar Hernandez & Shane McLanahan, leaving me 2 open spots. My choices are Alejandro Kirk, Bryan Reynolds, Vinnie Pasquantino, Ryan Helsey, Clay Holmes & Kyle Wright. Leaning towards keeping Reynolds and Helsey. Any thoughts??
Brad Johnson
1:27
Vinnie P for sure. I'd consider cutting Teoscar so you can keep two or Kirk, Reynolds, and Wright. Much as I like those closers, they're easier to replace.

What did your dogs want?
Brad Johnson
1:27
Hell if I know. I'm going to have to bounce in or out because they require supervision in the backyard.

Is Masataka Yoshida worthy of  a opening day starter spot in the outfield?
Brad Johnson
1:28
Depends on your league depth and draft strategy.
1:29
I could see giving him a shot as roughly the last starting OF in a 12-team, 3 OF situation. Especially one with OBP. That said, I wouldn't force it just to have him.

What's the most you'd pay for Acuna in an Ottoneu league?
Brad Johnson
1:29
Offhand, I'd guess around $75

Rasmussen over Lynn as keeper?
Brad Johnson
1:30
Acceptable, especially in a multi-year scenario. Also fine to keep Lynn over him for the longer outings.

Can I call you BJ? Short for Brad Johnson?
Brad Johnson
1:30
In my experience, I don't get a say about who calls me BJ. Doesn't matter to me.
brb, the dog, he barks.
Relievers
1:33
Your take on 2-reliever "handcuffs" for saves and holds? I'm thinking muñoz/Sewald or j.lopez/j.duran
Brad Johnson
1:33
When the players are particularly high performers like Munoz/Sewald, I like it.
Lopez isn't easy to tack down so I think it's a riskier ploy with him and Duran.
In both cases, a third party could enter the fray
1:34
It's a resource management gambit
By which I mean you need to examine the opportunity costs involved

Nola for 28 or Gonsolin for 10. Budget 260 keeper league 5x5.
Brad Johnson
1:36
Nola
I looked up some values. My initial impression was that Gonsolin was the better value even though Nola's obviously the better player.
1:37
In actuality, I think they're both fair value. Hence, take the better player.

In an NL-only keeper, must cut one of Conforto, Morel or Stott? Thanks.
Brad Johnson
1:39
Would be Morel or Stott for me. They both have positive and negative traits. I think Morel is going to be Chris Taylor-ish for a long time. Stott needs more strength or leverage with his swing. He looks like he could grow into stealthy 30 HR power. He puts up all these beautiful fly ball swings and then the ball doesn't go anywhere.

I have the second overall pick in a 24 team dynasty league. It is a fresh draft and teams carry over each year. Who is the better choice Ronald Acuna or Julio Rodriguez.
Brad Johnson
1:41
I imagine you'll get to choose whichever one isn't there unless Tatis goes first.  I honestly can't decide. Lean JRod maybe for the extra youthiness

it seems like a lot of rookies last year over performed expectations. who do you expect to step back?
Brad Johnson
1:41
Grissom and Harris. Maybe Strider too. That Braves roster has a whole lot of regression pushing in both directions.
1:42
let's see, who else...
Jeremy Pena seems exploitable
1:44
Brendan Donovan, McCarthy, Lodolo, Felix Bautista
That's about it
And, I think they'll all be good/useful players. Just not performing at the same level as 2022.

In a 12 Team league, when would you usually pick a closer?  & Is it wise topick two?
