I mean, I don't really want to naysay Vinnie P. I see nothing but good things happening for him. Top 1st baseman is a hell of a hurdle though.
2:00
Maybe in OBP
Getting around Freddie, Alonso, Olson, Goldy... I don't think so...
2:01
Vladito's a wild card. Dude could be Top 1 or 150th

Between Devin Williams, Tyler O’Neill, Salvy Pérez, Corbin Carroll and George Kirby, which 3 would you choose for a fantasy with keepers?
Brad Johnson
2:02
Carroll, Kirby, and probably O'Neill. I might opt for Williams over O'Neill if it's like 10 or 12-team and 3 OF.
O'Neill is sneaky productive on the SB side.

JRod for 21 or Strider for 1? 12 team head to head auction
Brad Johnson
2:02
Eesh, that's tough.
2:03
I think you go for Strider and use the savings to pay full freight for JRod or a similar talent.
For ~45 you can have JRod and a $24 player or JRod and Strider
2:04
Seems like JotCast doesn't like tildas, at least not in the moderator panel.
Strider should cost more than $24.
Whereas $41 should comfortably net JRod
Prospects

In a keeper points league, have the choice between adding prospects, Colton Cowser or Brett Baty..Which one has the more productive MLB debut season for their squads? Thanks
Brad Johnson
2:05
I think Baty is the play both for 2023 and long-term value
The latest report I got on Carroll identified a difficult-to-solve hole.

What should I expect? Points league where strikeouts cost a point
Brad Johnson
2:06
I don't even know what to expect in 5x5 let alone an opaque points format!
Broadly, extreme volatility, a huge pile of Ks, and perhaps enough of an early Javy Baez vibe to stay afloat.

Better multi-positional player to pick up:Jon Berti or Brendan Donovan or Kiki Hernandez?
Brad Johnson
2:07
I like Berti the most even though he's a MLB bench player. The reason is he can be deployed for a specific purpose in fantasy.
My guess is you'll be better off streaming that spot for matchups until you catch a whale.

Best chance to contribute this year: Tucker Davidson or Griffin Canning?
Brad Johnson
2:08
Canning is supposedly healthy and has actually achieved decent MLB results in the past.

Piggy backing off the Baty question. Baty or Steer for 2023 & beyond?
Brad Johnson
2:08
Baty for beyond. Steer has a much better opportunity for 2023, though he might just be bad.
2:09
I like Steer fwiw, but there's an inherent bust risk associated with him
I am a difficult to solve hole
2:09
Who do you go with from this collection of mid tier AL pitching: Eovaldi, Heaney, Eflin or Eduardo Rodriguez?
Brad Johnson
2:09
Eovaldi is probably the consensus choice. I like Eflin personally.
Closers
2:09
If not Hader, then I take the gamble on the Daniel Hudson, Brandon Hughes types that are in the draft and try to pick up saves along the way. I do not have a closer on my roster going into the draft
Brad Johnson
2:09
Probably doing Hader then

Does Harrison Bader have another gear - or is he at a point where he is what he is?
Brad Johnson
2:10
He has another gear. Does he know how to shift to it? Only time can answer that. Or maybe some baseball insiders. I can't.
2:11
Time to start wrapping up. I've got some Big Hype Prospects to hype big.

Spring Training will have a determination on who my NL only Dynasty keepers should be. Would you please rank the likelihood of  Baty, Alverez, Mervis, Busch and Weimer breaking with the big club. I am keeping De la Cruz regardless.  Thank you
Brad Johnson
2:11
I think you more or less hit the right order.
2:12
They're all 30% or lower. The caveat is that the Mets might end up viewing their last spot as either Baty or Alvarez. I think they'll prefer to put them where they'll have full time reps. Plus there's probably another season of club control to gain over them by delaying.

More on drafting closers in 12 team leagues (saves only). The ADP's show the top 10 or 11 going in the top 90-100 picks. I don't want any of that! Who are a couple of overlooked guys you might target in the 130 range?
Brad Johnson
2:14
Scott Barlow, Paul Sewald, Alexis Diaz, and Kendall Graveman are among my favorites after pick 130. Not in that order.
