Morning, y'all!
We'll get started in a sec
Matt Carrot
11:01
Who would be the most impactful player the Guardians could realistically acquire at the deadline?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:02
Their most obvious needs are at shortstop and starting pitcher. They have the assets to get just about anyone who'll likely be available (and can easily replenish give their draft assets) but they generally target guys with control so I'd probably throw out any rental types
11:03
Bo Bichette is likely available and Cleveland could get him but I think Kiner-Falefa would be more likely
Luis Rengifo would also be a nice pickup.
Luzardo is easily the best SP and has control years but that market is going to be super hot and I don't think Cleveland will push in for him
11:04
Braxton Garret, on the other hand, is more risky but wouldn't cost as much
11:05
I think they should try for Reid Detmers - lots of talent, unrealized results...Sounds perfect for Cleveland

Any update regarding the Xfinity/Bally dispute?  Do you expect it to be resolved soon?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:05
Nothing much - Diamond is supposed to have a bankruptcy court date in a couple of weeks but now it seems they might delay it for a month
It's such a damn joke

This time of year is thin pickings from the free agent pool. Which weekend call-up going to find more success: Daniel Schneeman or Jamie Westbrook?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:07
Westbrook. Talent but also better chance of staying up/contributing meaningfully
Andujar
11:08
Miguel Andüjar has been red hot. He used to be a prospect of note. Has he found the Holy Grail at age 29?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:08
I wouldn't get too excited. Feasting on fastballs but a 200-point difference between his wOBA/xwOBA says leaner times are coming.

Who has a better chance of finishing the year strong: Byron Buxton, Alex Kirilloff, or Mitch Haniger? All three are killing me. All three are health hazards. (I cringe seeing Buxton in the OF.) Who will end up with the higher BA? The most HRs?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:10
Buxton for all of the above - you just have to hold your breath literally every time a ball is hit to him/he runs the bases.
Just an anxiety-inducing watch

In H2H Cat 25-player keeper league without minor league slots, I want to stash a couple pitching prospects who have the most upside.  How would you rank order the following:  Christian Scott, Drew Thorpe, Hurston Waldrep, Cade Povich, and Rhett Lowder.  If you are going to stash two of them ... who would you target?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:13
Waldrep (who I really like) and Povich

Is Dansby worth a roster spot at this point?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:14
Roster spot, definately but ideally sitting him if you have the room

Tyler Black is putting up good numbers in AAA and didn’t get much from his sip of coffee earlier this season. I would think he is a better play than a few IFers currently in Milwaukee. Does he force his way up or is it going to take an IL to get him up again? Isn’t he part of their future?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:16
He could work his way back up without an injury but I think he'd really have to force their hand via performance. He's definitely still a big part of their future but I suspect they consider him more a 2025 guy

12-team, AL only, OBP league, 2nd place by 3 points in a two-team race. Owners at the bottom are making trading noises. Have some deal ammo, but active roster includes Julio, Bregman, Melendez, Langford, Keith, Springer and Aranda. In theory and in practice, better to wait for some or all of these under-performers to kick in or bring in new blood at the cost mainly of minor leaguers (DeLauter, Jaison Chourio, Ford, Celesten, Farmelo, Emmanuel Rodriguez); have Kirby, Castillo and Skubal but would prefer to hold on to all of them in pursuit of wins and strikeouts. Thanks!
Nicklaus Gaut
11:18
Given your spot near the top, I'd hold off on trading for a bit longer to see if your underperformers start hitting, even if it's only enough to build their trade value up.

I'm looking for some replacements for K Carpenter and Nootbaar. Who do you like out of J Soler, G Sheets, J Sanchez, T Larnach, T Pham and N Senzel? Or do you have a different sleeper OF that you'd recommend? I also have Kepler on my roster, would you continue holding him despite his recent slump?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:19
Sheets is a great streamer but only when the Sox don't have a bunch of LHP on the schedule
I like Pham the most out of the group but also wouldn't give up on Kepler. Slumping recently but was really strong prior to hit

11:21
What do you think of M Waldron? Flash in the pan or useful (at least to stream) going forward?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:22
More interesting than just a flash in the pan but knucklers can go through extreme stretches when it's not working
counterpoint: i've been fascinated with knuckleballs since I was a kid and will always root for them

I just traded Luzardo and J Hicks for P Lopez. I'm concerned about Luzardo's elbow and Hicks' workload. And Lopez's savant page is pretty close to what he did last year. How'd I do?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:23
I like your side. Sure, Luzardo/Hicks could (in total) outperform Pablo but there is such a monster difference in risk
Skenes Haul Truckin'
11:23
Traded Skenes for Caminero, Chourio, Royce Lewis. & James Wood. Good deal. Yes?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:24
That's some pretty good bulk talent for Skenes.

Isaac Parades is underrated. Why no praise  for Parades?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:25
Because he's in Tampa?
