Do mlb players ever struggle to keep nerves under control in a big game? Did you?
Jonny Gomes
11:00
I would say majority of big leaders struggle with nerves in  big games or big moments if they didn’t we wouldn’t have the word clutch or clutch players
Bryan

Were you an Avid MLBTR user during you playing days?
Jonny Gomes

Trade rumors was definitely the platform to get information if you needed and still is

Defensive shifts: Good or bad for the game?
Jonny Gomes
11:02
Defensive shifts are good for the game if they didn’t work teams wouldn’t do it every team does it means it works. Imagine in football if the ball is on the 1 yard line and you couldn’t bring in your goal line Defense because you had to have your dB’s flared out 2 safeties, three linebackers 5 yards off the ball

Oops I forgot to include my questions— can you speak about how the Boston marathon bombing affected you guys in the clubhouse in 2013? I believe you were headed to Cleveland when you found out
Jonny Gomes
11:07
It was something I’ve never dealt with in life where you truly feared for your safety. The Boston first responders, police and whole squad of boots on the ground dominated
Nick
11:07
When you pitched that one inning in 2015, who did you get your strikeout against?
Jonny Gomes
11:08
Forget the kids name but it was the picture so I have a ERA and a strike out in the big leagues
Alexis Texas

In the majors, do you have to pack your own uniforms for the road or are the uniforms already ready for you to use when you arrive?
Jonny Gomes
11:11
Major-league baseball clubhouse attendance are some of the best human beings on the planet when you arrive to a ballpark your locker is set up and everything is there for you

Thoughts on the automated strike zone? As the dad of a youth catcher, I don't like it taking away the value the position can bring...but I also don't like umps deciding games with missed ball/strike calls.
Jonny Gomes
11:13
I think it takes away a lot away from the value of a catcher the number one skill for a catcher to separate himself from the rest obviously would be hitting but next is having the ability to frame and block pictures if we go to an automated system framing would be a lost art

Many of your teammates say you were the best teammate they ever had. David Price, James Shielda, etc all say you were among thr best. Why do you feel that was?
Jonny Gomes
11:15
Paid attention to details treated everybody with respect had everybody’s back it’s way easier to be a good teammate then a bad teammate those guys you mentioned some of my best teammates as well

What was it like playing with Scott Rolen?  Was he the leader of that clubhouse when you were with the Reds?  He always seemed like such a coach-like player.
Jonny Gomes
11:17
Scott Rolen is one of the guys that TV did him no justice dude was a monster in person. This guy was the definition of a ball player he taught me so much by just watching him, his pregame work ethic was second to none also taught me a lot with talks on the bench
