You don’t have to thank me it was an honor and extremely prideful
Larry
10:34
Just wanted to say thanks for 2013. What a magical ride. Best team you were ever on?
Jonny Gomes
10:37
I was on a lot of really good teams winning the World Series doesn’t necessarily mean you are the best team it means you got hot at the right time. 2008 run with Tampa make it to the World Series with the 42 million ish payroll seems impossible but we did it, 2012 Oakland A’s we are in first place for four innings of 162 game season, And of course 2010 Cincinnati I think we hit around .280 as a team. I was lucky Lotta good baseball

Could you tell Freddie Freeman was going to be the caliber of player he is now while you were on the Braves?
Jonny Gomes
10:39
Freddie Freeman’s Disappoint at the plate, hand Eye coordination, power, speed, has always been there never a doubt Freddie Freeman would be an MVP. He is also an MVP of a teammate.

What is with the whole idea of speeding games up?  If you don't like baseball, then don't watch it.  If you have a short attention span, go watch a sitcom.
Jonny Gomes

I’m with you man

With all the discussion surrounding large v small market teams, what’s your opinion on how the CBT & revenue sharing truly impacts “competitive balance?”  Should large markets be able to spend or should we cater to the small market theory of unfair advantage?
Jonny Gomes
10:41
on the baseball player in between the lines this type of stuff is outside the lines how I to stay in my lane. My only little thought on this is instead of salary cap there should be a team salary minimum that you can’t spend under

Why don't more hitters take advantage of the shift ?
Jonny Gomes
10:44
I don’t know, it’s the only thing in today’s game that I didn’t have to deal with late in my career the second baseman creeped over behind second not every team, I was team first and I knew if I get a single I could read a ball in the dirt or steal second that puts me in scoring position I could honestly say I would lay down bunts if no one was on the left or right side

Jonny, How long do you think the players can hold out if they really want to make significant positive changes in the CBA?
Jonny Gomes
10:44
I’m sure the players and the owners can hold out as long as they want. The players need baseball the owners need baseball they will iron it out

Which team has the rudest fans?
Jonny Gomes
10:45
I would have to tip my hat to San Francisco and Philadelphia. I wouldn’t label it as rude as much as they don’t hesitate to let you know how they feel Ha

What do you remember about being signed to a Braves team you knew likely were rebuilding and under a lot of heat from MLB with the former front office issues? Any hesitancy to play for a club that likely couldn't make the postseason?
Jonny Gomes
10:47
There’s only 30 MLB teams in the world with that being said I’d never shy away from playing for many of them. Had the opportunity to play Freddie Freeman wear the same jersey as guys like chipper Jones Andrew Jones and Hank Aaron and put in front of the Awesome Fanbase with the tomahawk chop every night

Did you enjoy having Eric Hinske as a teammate?
Jonny Gomes
10:49
Eric Hinske was an amazing teammate a lot in common fast forward today is one of the best hitting coaches in the game.

Jonny thank you so much for doing this! Although your stay in Boston was brief, you are one of my favorite Red Sox to have ever suited up for us.
Jonny Gomes

What were you thinking moments before the STL home run in the WS?
Jonny Gomes
10:51
Truly never pictured myself in the Homerun I just wanted the opportunity. Once I got the opportunity I knew I’ve done all my homework was ready for The Bat I just had to press play let it work itself out. A Pull homer on two two count Change my life and helped pave the way to the parade

If you could know one piece of information about a pitcher before facing him, what would it be?
Jonny Gomes
10:56
I always wanted to know how many pitches he had the velocity of those pitches, what pitches he threw in big counts those counts to me were 0-1 and 3-2. I also wanted to know which was always a big difference what he threw with runners in scoring position, this goes back to doing your homework which is the data collected in previous outings of that pitcher. I would also look to see if I could find certain patterns he would fall into

How many games do you think we play this year?
Jonny Gomes
10:57
Enough to have a World Series winner and loser but unfortunately all individual records are safe due to a shortage of games
Paul
10:57
Hey Jonny! I remember a few years back I bought an old MLB 2K8 video game, and after trying it out you always seemed to hit a home run against my team when I played a game, so I kept acquiring you in franchise mode every save! Best of luck man!
Jonny Gomes
10:58
Right on man thanks for the support

Describe the feeling of winning a World Series, especially knowing how much of a grind it takes in a season to win one.
