favorite stadium you played in?

Hard to be a Dodger vs. Giants game in LA or San Fran

Hey Josh - As an A's fan, I'm curious how was your one year in the Oakland organization? Any special memories from that season?
Josh Lindblom
11:53
It was a good season! I got hit with a comebacker and it broke my tibia so I spent a few months in AZ rehabbing. I remember opening day got rained out and I had to start a game of a DH on "pseudo-opening day."

It looked like you pitched fairly well during the shortened 2020 season as a starter. Any reason why the team suddenly moved you to the bullpen in 2021?
Josh Lindblom
11:53
That rotation was pretty darn good! I think there were three all-stars on it in 2021. I didn't pitch good enough to crack the rotation, I guess.

In going to the KBO, what were challenges as a player/husband/father that you might not have expected? As an ex-MLBer, does that make things easier or harder in clubhouse/league?
Josh Lindblom
11:55
Baseball is baseball no matter what country you go to. The hardest adjustment when you go to a foreign country is the off-the-field stuff. Making sure your family is taken care of and comfortable. The small issues can bleed onto the field really easy.

Gave me a greater appreciation for what Latin American players and other foreign players have to deal with in coming to the US

Pitchers have a little more time than position players to watch the stadium experience. Any funny moments come to mind of promotions or antics between the different levels you pitched at?
Josh Lindblom
11:56
Lots of great bullpen stories over the year. Not too many of them are safe to talk about here.

Hey, Josh! Always been curious on the difference in player development across seaboards. Are there any specific differences you can discuss that helped shape you as a pitcher? Congrats on your career! Loved watching you play us at Wrigley!
Josh Lindblom
11:57
Thanks! Development overseas for me primarily happened in-game. Learning who I was as a pitcher. What worked and what didn't work. There were high expectations every time out and you had to meet them. So I really learned how to manage in-game strategy and adjustments.

Indiana has the #1 baseball player (as well as #1 softball player) in the nation (Max Clark) and is seen as moving up on the scale of baseball/softball hotbeds. What has been the driving force behind that?
Josh Lindblom
11:58
Indiana is a sleeper state for baseball talent (midwest) in general.

Not sure if I can point to one thing, but there are some very good coaches in the state that contribute to that.

Hi Josh, I got to see you pitch in Seoul in 2018 when I was on a trip.  How much of a surprise was the atmosphere with the crowds in Asia and how much did that help you in your starts?
Josh Lindblom
11:59
I loved it! I remember my first game in 2015 I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest. Every game was like a playoff atmosphere.

Which teams get to WBC final?
Josh Lindblom
11:59
I'd have to look at the brackets so Idk if this is a possible matchup, but I am going to go USA and Japan.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
Josh Lindblom
12:00
Oddly enough, I haven't had much time for vacations! We took our kids to Disney a couple years ago and that was fine for them. Heading to Pigeon Forge for Spring Break so I will let you know where that ranks!

What was it like to pitch at Dodger Stadium in front of 56,000 people?
Josh Lindblom
12:01
Unbelievable experience. Nothing like it

Obviously the MLB is the top league but what are the different challenges in playing in the MLB and KBO, was there any challenge that was surprising?
Josh Lindblom
12:01
Primarily off the field adjustments as a foreigner. Also, getting to know the scouting reports and players. Knowing a little Korean goes a long way when putting those together.

I love asking questions like this: What was the closest you ever came to signing a deal (or being traded) that fell through in the final stages and never ended up happening?
Josh Lindblom
12:02
I am not sure that I had this happen to me. I had been traded so many times I started saying, "I don't know if everyone wants me or no one wants me!"

Thanks for chatting, Josh! I'm a Dbacks fan... who was the most intimidating Dbacks pitcher to face and what was it like watching the career of Paul Goldschmidt evolve (he debuted in 2011 when you played with the Dodgers)?
Josh Lindblom
12:03
I remember Paul's 2011 (I think) in the Southern League. Paul got called up at the all-star break and was the league leader in home runs at the end of the year.

He is one guy that is hard to root against. Great competitor, great player, but an even better person.

What is your favorite Korean dish? Mine is samkyopsal.
Josh Lindblom
12:04
Favorite Korean dish has to be Yook-kae-jang. It's like a spicy pot roast soup.

i go to durham bulls alot, great park. what is your favorite milb park?
Josh Lindblom
12:05
Durham is a great place to play...not a great place to pitch. Albuquerque and Round Rock are two of may favorites. I have to throw Nashville in there also.

I'm an old knuckleballer and am wondering if you ever dabbled? And do you think we'll see such a knuckleballer again in MLB?
Josh Lindblom
12:06
Hey Phil! Charlie Hough tried teaching me one time but I could never get it.

12:06
Josh thank you for doing this, what was your favorite moment & favorite stadium to play in during ur career?⚾️.
Josh Lindblom
12:06
No problem, Connor! Favorite moment has to be my debut in Dodger Stadium.

do you beleive college baseball is purer than major leagues?
Josh Lindblom
12:08
I enjoy (some of) the emotions in college baseball. Baseball is an emotional game and I think those emotions can be used and channeled in ways to improve performance. Watching kids play is probably the purest form of baseball. So much joy on their faces.

what was your go to pre meal?
Josh Lindblom
12:09
I rarely ate on the day that I pitched. I would usually eat breakfast, but then wouldn't eat again until after the game. If I had anything it would be something light.
