With 2021 being your best season to date, have you had to deal with the fame that’s come with it? People recognizing you in public for example now vs before? More autographs to sign?
Paul Sewald
10:45
Nobody recognizes relievers even at the field, let alone in public!
Kevin
10:45
What was it like losing a key guy in the pen in Kendall Graveman?
Paul Sewald
10:45
It was really tough losing Gravey as a teammate and friend for sure. But incredibly happy for his success this year turning into a pay day this offseason.

How do you avoid burnout and stay motivated during a 162-game season in which you play almost every day?
Paul Sewald
10:46
It's really important to focus on sticking to your routine and being diligent on your preparation over the course of the 6 month season. When youre locked in to that, everything else is easy.

Did we face each other growing up in Vegas? Who came out on top?
Paul Sewald

We didnt face each other growing up since you were a few years younger, but weve had a couple battles in the big leagues that have been fun, but even.

So much hype with the prospects coming up! How are you guys feeling about JRod, Kelenic, Kirby, Hancock and Noelvi so close to being part of the team?
Paul Sewald
10:49
The front office has done an amazing job creating an amazing farm system as well as major league team to compete for a long time.

If you could face one batter (current or former player), who would you choose?
Paul Sewald
10:49
Babe Ruth would be a pretty fun matchup I've played in my head.

Hi Paul, thanks for doing this chat! It's awesome for fans to be able to connect with players. So from a player's perspective, what is your favorite way(s) of interacting with fans?
Paul Sewald
10:51
Things like this are a lot of fun and as players we want to show appreciation to the fans who support us. I love getting to meet fans and hear how excited they are to be at a big league game especially first timers.

What veterans have helped you the most in your career?
Paul Sewald
10:54
I'd probably credit Jerry Blevins with being the best veteran influence on me. He was my catch partner for my first 2 years in New York, and helped me understand what its like to be a big league pitcher day in and day out.

Hey Paul, I saw that you pitched for the US national team in the Pan American games. What was that like, and how was it different from playing in the big leagues? Thanks!
Paul Sewald
10:56
That was quite a few years ago, but one of my best baseball memories including the big leagues. Representing the USA was so humbling.

Whats your best tip on staying focused and accomplishing goals.
Paul Sewald
11:01
I think its important to continually create goals, and when you reach them to make new ones. There will always be somebody better than you and ive used that as motivation forever to try and be the best that i can be.

Hey Paul! In your opinion, which current Mariners jersey looks the best?
Paul Sewald
11:02
Northwest Green just has a special vibe i feel like.
GBS42
11:02
Ten wins and 11 saves last year!  That's a pretty cool combo for a relief pitcher.  The wins in particular are unlikely to happen again just because of their randomness, but what are some goals, statistical or non-statistical, you have for yourself in the 2022 season and beyond?
Paul Sewald
11:02
Only goal for next year is to make the playoffs. Everything else is secondary.
