How likely do you think a Ryan Braun trade is?
Steve Adams
3:38
Not likely. The Dodgers are about the only team that are even possible.

3:39
Scott Feldman to the Astros to eat some innings and save some young arm innings until Keuchel and company get healthy?
Steve Adams
3:39
Don't think Feldman goes back to Houston, no. They have a huge lead as it is... they'll stay internal until their injured guys are back. If they're acquiring anyone it's going to be someone who could join Keuchel and McCullers in their postseason rotation

Who's gonna be the all star representative for the padres
Steve Adams
3:40
Myers, I'd imagine. Maybe Hand.

3:41
AARON JUDGE and STANTON in HR Derby worth the price of admission?
Steve Adams
3:42
Will be fun, for sure. Add Sano to that mix as well. Should be a good one this year.

Biggest name you think is traded?
Steve Adams
3:42
Sonny Gray?

3:42
When are we going to see Fister pitch in the MLB?
Steve Adams
3:44
He can ask for his release tomorrow if he's not in the Majors. He hasn't pitched all that well in his two most recent AAA starts, so I'm not 100% certain the Angels will bring him up. But, if they don't, now that Fister is tuned up, some other team will give him a chance in the Majors. Twins would make sense.

any chance yanks call up andjar to play 3rd?
Steve Adams
3:45
Yeah I imagine they're open to that possibility. Again, though, as I noted when the Torres announcement came out... Headley's been hitting a lot better over the past 20 games or so. Has a .390ish OBP int hat span.

Can the Nats win a World Series with that bullpen.  Seems like playoffs magnify the importance of RPs.
Steve Adams
3:45
I don't think so, no. But I also think it's a virtual certainty that they trade for multiple relievers between now and July 31.

Every time I see Jason Martinez's picture I think its Bernard from WestWorld. Can we refer to him as Bernard from now on?
Steve Adams
3:46
Ha, I don't see that at all, but I've also met him in person so it makes the comp tougher for me. You can ask him if you like! Maybe he'll dig it. I'm sticking with "Jason" for him though haha

Is the Pirates only realistic course to hold McCutchen and hope he has built trade value so they can exercise his option and trade over the winter or next deadline?
Steve Adams
3:48
I don't think that's the case at all. He's been hitting quite a bit better as of late and is up to a 112 wRC+. If he keeps improving, there'll be a market for him this summer. I still wouldn't give up an enormous package of prospects for him, since I think he's more name value than on-field value, but his improved offense is certainly worth noting.

Bud Norris to DL -- looking for the specific injury
3:50
Hm. We don't have a press release on it yet. I assume one of the Halos' beat writers will give more info shortly.
Garret
3:50
How many people tune in to these?
Steve Adams
3:51
Few hundred to a couple thousand, depending on the time of year. Kind of a shorter crowd in here today than last week, though we've been between 400 and 700 pretty consistently. I'm sure some people tune in and out throughout.

3:52
Can his injury help the O's? 2nd worst hitter in the league according to wRC+ - stud at SS, but O's need bats and need runs in a hurry to compete.
Steve Adams
3:53
I wouldn't say it actively helps them -- they're going to be replacing his bat with Ruben Tejada, after all. And the Orioles' bigger need is for someone besides Dylan Bundy to actually begin resembling an MLB-caliber starting pitcher.

3:53
Could the Nationals get Alex Colome without giving up Victor Robles?
Steve Adams
3:54
Sure. The Rays would obviously ask about him, but when the Nationals say no (and they would say no), it's not like the system is devoid of any other appealing pieces. Generally speaking, I don't think there are many instances where a team absolutely HAS to give one singular player in a trade to get a deal done.
Orioles
3:54
Can the O's do ANYTHING to compete again this year?
Steve Adams
3:55
Barring simultaneous miraculous rebounds from Gausman and Tillman, I have a really hard time envisioning them as serious contenders.
Bigger Surprise
3:55
Bigger surprise this year... Yankees or Rockies?
Steve Adams
3:57
Rockies for me. I thought the Yankees had the pieces to be good if everything went their way. They're better than I thought (tip of the cap to both Aarons in the Bronx), but I wouldn't ruled out the possibility. I didn't think the Rockies had anywhere near enough pitching to be this good. And while I think a large part of their rotation's success has been smoke and mirrors (Senzatela, Freeland in particular), they're getting Gray back soon and Hoffman looks very good.
I still think the Rockies would do well to acquire a starter to add to the top 40% of their rotation, but obviously they're extremely likely to make the postseason even without an addition.

3:58
with the Mets pitching woes should they go for a no cost option like Jaime Garcia?
Steve Adams
3:59
At this point I wouldn't advocate the Mets giving up any prospects for rentals/short-term value. They're 12.5 games back of a Wild Card spot and 10.5 back in the East. They're basically cooked.

Do teams carry scouting reports on umpires? For stride zones, tempers, things you can and can't say...all the fun stuff?
Steve Adams
4:01
I'm sure they're keenly aware of each different umpire's personality. And as for tracking their strike zones/tendencies... all of that info can be found at Brooks Baseball, I think, so I'm sure teams have their own tracking of it as well.

You buying Mike Zunino yet?
Steve Adams
4:04
Yes and no. I've always believed in the power, but he's not going to hit .260 when he's striking out in almost 39% of his PAs. I buy him as a .220 average with a .300ish OBP and a slugging somewhere in the low to mid 400s though, which is enough for him since he's a catcher (and a solid defensive one at that)
