Yeah -- Berrios, Sano... might try with Dozier assuming he's not traded next month. I don't think any of the outfielders or Polanco have really displayed enough that you want to be sure to lock them down yet though.

Who should I ttade besides Brad Hand?
Steve Adams
3:40
Richard, Chacin, Cahill (if he gets back and is healthy)... Craig Stammen might get a bit of interest.

Do you foresee any player becoming available at the deadline that aren't really mentioned now? ie Tulo in 2015
Steve Adams
3:42
Duquette's comments notwithstanding, I do wonder if he'll start taking offers on Machado in late July -- similar to Tulo or to David Price the year prior.

3:42
Why can't the Reds develop young pitching?
Steve Adams
3:43
They're not the only ones struggling to develop pitching prospects. Pitchers get hurt, and that's been very true for the Reds' younger arms in recent years
Steve
3:43
Are the Giants sellers
Steve Adams
3:43
They will be, yeah
Doug
3:43
Does Nunez on the Giants make sense for the Red Sox? Can the Giants expect a top 100 player for him?
Steve Adams
3:44
Yeah he makes sense for them. The Twins barely got a Top 100-ish guy (Mejia) last year when they were trading 1.5 years of Nunez. He'll command less this time around with just two months till free agency.

Bellinger for Machado straight up. Dodger's move Turner to first/second.
Steve Adams
3:44
Why on earth would the Dodgers give up Bellinger for a year and a half of Machado?
3:45
Hell Bellinger's been better than Manny in 2017 anyhow. He's been better than most players... he's a monster.

Who is the most likely Giant to be traded?
Steve Adams
3:45
Nunez, I'd say
Mike
3:45
Does luhnow make a substantial move before the deadline or no?
Steve Adams
3:45
I do think they'll make a significant add to the rotation and/or bullpen yeah.
Dealer Dave
3:47
Do I make a splash again this deadline? Ideas?
Steve Adams
3:48
I'll be fairly surprised if the Red Sox don't come away from the deadline with a new third baseman -- probably a rental since Devers isn't too far off. Frazier is the most obvious candidate, but I still don't buy that the Royals are going to hang on and think Moose will be available closer to the deadline.

That Melancon trade last year by me was highway robbery of the Nats. Thank you.
Steve Adams
3:49
I wasn't a fan of it for the Nats at the time and it looks considerably worse now, yeah

Sonny Gray gone given his relative stability?  Think JBJ is a possible get from Boston if they throw in Lowrie?
Steve Adams
3:51
I think Gray will get moved this summer, but Bradley's not a realistic target for a number of reasons. Subtracting him negates a lot of the value the Sox would get by acquiring Gray, and he's already arbitration eligible. The A's will want controllable pieces with less than a year of service time if they're moving Gray

Logan Morrison to Yankees
Steve Adams
3:52
I'd call Alonso likelier just because the Rays trading a rental to another contender in their own division would be difficult. If Tampa Bay completely falls out of the division and Wild Card hunt, which seems unlikely, then it'd make more sense.

With Drew Smyly, and Hisashi Iwakuma coming back to the Mariners after the All Star Break, do they have the greatest chance of the teams not in right now to get into the AL WC game?
Steve Adams
3:57
I do really like the Mariners if Smyly comes back healthy -- I'm looking at the teams around them and trying to say I definitively like one better (again, assuming Smyly's health), and I'm not able to do so. There are a lot of decent teams bunched together there, but I do like the Wild Card chances of a healthier Mariners roster.

Is it possible that I'm a buyer and a seller? I need to trade Lynn to make room for some pitching prospects. What kind of return should I expect for Lynn?
Steve Adams
4:00
The whole dichotomy of "buyer or seller" is a bit played out in MLB with the second wild card and the constant need for some teams to move players before they lose them for nothing. I don't really dig the labels.

But to your point, I can see them moving Lynn and still not punting on the season, yeah. At some point Weaver will get another chance, considering how good he's been in Memphis.

more likely to be traded: Jd Martinez or Hunter Pence?
Steve Adams

Martinez

Raimel Taipa & Ryan McMahon nets Archer, Cole, or Quintana?
Steve Adams

Nope.

4:01
Is there a market for Brandon Phillips
Steve Adams
4:02
Probably not an especially strong one, but he could help the Jays or Angels if those teams are open to adding rentals. Won't cost a ton.
4:03
Reds announce Jake Buchanan DFA, Kevin Shackelford up from Louisville
Hunter Strickland
4:03
would the Nationals trade for me or have I made myself untouchable to them?
Steve Adams
4:04
Ha, I kind of doubt it, but if they did somehow work out a deal I'm sure him and Harper would bury the hatchet quickly. Have to think Bryce would be thrilled to bring in any solid reliever.

Bigger picture, I do think it'd be wise for the Giants to market Strickland.
