If your point is that I, Tim Dierkes, and not Ozzie Albies, and don't make Ozzie's decisions, yes, um...true.  You're right, I don't know why he would sign such a deal.  I honestly can't think of a single reason why he would.  But dude...we're MLB Trade Rumors.  We talk about this stuff.  I know Albies "had his reasons" - every player who ever signed a contract had their reasons to do it.  If a player wants to do something really dumb financially, it's on the agent and the MLBPA to try to convince him not to.  Sometimes he does it anyway, and I think that's a shame.

How could this website even exist and not analyze players' contract extensions?  And then how could one analyze any contract extension aside from just saying, "That was good!" if they decide not to discuss the money?

A lot of us are just happy to have albies in a braves uni for a long time because as he said and i quote: "This is home"

I hope it works both ways then, and I'm glad the Braves threw in a no-trade cla...oh, they didn't.  Well, I'm at least glad the Braves guaranteed all nine seas...oh, they didn't.  OK, well at least after this contract runs out after 2027, and Albies hits free agency as a 31-year-old, the Braves will surely lock him up for another nine years at market rates no matter his performance level...right?  right???

Nah...I just felt like publishing some of the dumber comments re: Albies, when usually I skip 'em.

Speaking of owners being greedy... Do we think the Jays are stashing him in AAA a bit longer for optics? They have the time but don't want to bring him up right when that tolled (even though we all know this game)?

Do they really get the benefit of optics when they are fooling no one?  The Cubs let Kris Bryant be literally one day shy of a full year's service.  The Jays should call him up now so the fans can have maximum Vlad Jr, at least.
OK that's it for me today, thanks for chatting!  Including the haters!
