Love what I've seen from Cole Young; Emerson more long-term upside, but CY in 2026.

Super interesting RotoWire note that one HOU beat writer thinks Loperfido could win CF job over Meyers. Also I still believe in Cam Smith ... how he handled himself last year; super good AB last ST; athleticism; top-notch pedigree. Late flyer type in some lgs.

AL only.  Telling myself I need an ace this year.  Outside of Crochet and Skubal, please rank with gaps:  Woo, Gilbert, JRyan, Rasmussen, HBrown, Eovaldi....
Brent Hershey
12:40
Brown, Woo, Gilbert (very close top 3) <gap> Ryan <small gap> Rasmussen, Eovaldi, who both have more risk for me

AL only, obp league.  Please rank Cowser, Butler, Arozarena, WAbreu
Brent Hershey
12:41
Abreu pretty comfortably over Cowser (breakout candidate), Aroz, Butler

What is the plan for BHQ radio?  Dropping it this year now?  I miss it and Patrick Davitt.
Brent Hershey
12:43
Huge shoes to fill, plan on taking our time to do it.

Hey Brent.  Play in NL only Scoresheet league.  For my last draft pick:  play it "safe" with Caleb Thielbar or "roll the dice" on Ryan Walker?  My bullpen already:  Jhoan Duran; Alex Vesia; Luke Weaver; Phil Maton.  Or alternately could go for utility flex Edmundo Sosa.    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Brent Hershey
12:44
Ryan Walker. You have cushion if he goes belly-up
eligibility
12:46
hi Brent, thank you for taking my question. How many Reds games do you think before S Stewart to get 10 games eligibility at another position than 1b? 3b? 2b? vol?
Brent Hershey
12:46
If Reds stay healthy, think it could be a while. Hayes / McLain right now are locked in, and they have OF options. I wouldn't count on it; though Steward has shown he could move around. An injury, though? All bets are off.

Which 2 of the following should I keep in my 12 team AL only?  Victor Robles (for whatever he goes for in auction + $1), Tyler O'Neil (for whatever he goes for in the auction + $1), Colby Thomas or $10 or Grant Taylor for $10?
Brent Hershey
12:49
Assuming keeper, Taylor. With his Ks, ~100ish innings this year, stated SP in 2027. Then I'd tap your internal intel to decide who goes lower in the auction between Robles/O'Neill and choose that one. Both have flaws, but some value in AL-only.

hi Brent, thank you for taking my question. Do you consider these 1b has having similar value for 2026 or do you see one potentially much better or much worst : c walker, aranda, s stewart, burleson, o’hearn, burger, manzardo, vaughn?

11-team NL-only standard 5x5 Roto League $280 salary cap with 9 pitchers (any) and 14 hitters (2C,1b,2b,3b,ss,5OF, MI,CO,UT).  Each team able to lock-in 7 keepers prior to auction draft. Last keeper choice: Machado $30 or Gorman $5.  This is the last contract yr. for both.  Whichever one not kept will require $2 buyout that further reduces available draft cash.  Third base is pretty thin.  Recommend keeping Machado and his relative safe production floor for $30 or keep Gorman for $5 and hope his average is not a complete KILLER?

cheaper sluggers
12:52
hi Brent, I am preparing my middle draft rounds. I anticipe to be already alright in terms of average and stolen bases. In which order should I consider these outfielder sluggers : t ward, varsho, carpenter, wallner? Should I be worried about the last 2 being platooned?  Can w abreu potentially join this group?
Brent Hershey
12:52
Varsho, Ward, Wallner, Carp
Wallner > Carp in terms of AB
Yes, Abreu can join and would provide better BA, but not sure of the 30-HR power ceiling that those first two provide

Hi Brent! Thoughts on keeping Alejandro Kirk at $2 in a one-catcher league? 14-team mixed, 9X9 [5X5 cats. + OBP, Hits, Doubles, Triples]. I asked about hitter keepers last week and forgot to include him. Among my choices, wondering how he might fall among how you ranked them, which was: Rafaella ($2), Jeremy Pena ($4), Miguel Vargas ($1), Adell ($1) and Torkelson ($3)...

FWIW, we have a pretty big bench, so I generally do draft a second catcher, though it's not required, to avoid the DNPs.

Thanks and wishing you and everybody a great season!
Brent Hershey

Keep Kirk, slot in between Pena and Vargas

Inherited an AL-Keeper Tm in an Auction league, and new to Long-term contracts. Two good players are in their Option year and for $5 a year I can add whatever years I want. One is Crochet at $11, and the other is OF Butler at $1. Counting them, I'm keeping ten, a they are half the profit I have going into the auction. I was thinking about having them for next year by adding a year on each. Crochet could get hurt and Butler may have plateaued in the second tier.  Sprending $10 would net me roughly $10 profit on each, and amount equal to the profit on the other eight keepers. I am being too conservative?
Brent Hershey
12:57
Maybe a bit on Crochet, b/c of his longer track record and more elite skill. BUT of course the profit goes down the longer you lock up. I actually might just play out Butler at $1(giving you a better shot at a bigger profit this year). But Crochet at $11 you could do either one or two years. I'd probably just opt for one additional year there.

Based on the second half last year, Cam Smith was put in a tough spot early in his career. How to you see him long-term?
Brent Hershey
12:57
As mentioned earlier, like him a lot long-term

Sarris loves Liberatore do you?
Brent Hershey
12:58
Yes; has caught my attention this spring and drafted him in  Tout Wars over the weekend; it was only after that that someone in the mentioned Eno's love. Fairly cheap, so might as well.

I am not sure of the question etiquette but, I already submitted a question and I have two more. Please rank the following players to be used as utility/bench: Casey Schmitt, Michael Massey, Jeremiah Jackson and Angel Martinez.

NL 5x5 keeper - thoughts on Vientos playing time, seems like the 400+ AB on most projections are high, considering the overcrowded situation and his lack of defensive ability. Also, who would you rather keep, a $5 Ryne Nelson or $10 Lile
Brent Hershey
1:00
Worry about Vientos' lackluster spring; we have him at 374 pAB. And Lile.

Scoresheet BL league.  Can you rank Sands, Hunter (both from one of your previous comments), Ginkel, Maton, Walker, and Faucher.  Getting to the end of our draft and need some relievers...
