Feel like they probably do revert to 6-man when the schedule matches up for them to do so. That outing yesterday was pretty much near a starter's length

Hi Brent. 12-team 5X5 H2H league with OBP instead of AVG. My starting pitching is strong (Gausman, Wheeler, Ohtani, Musgrove, Montas, S. Gray, Syndergaard, Gore, with Megill and Heaney on the IL), and my 2B/SS/MI is deep but banged up at the moment (India on the IL, Adames and Pena day-to-day, Baez, and Espinal). Should I try to trade Gore or Syndergaard for Luis Urias? Or just play Espinal/Baez at 2B & SS and wait for one of Adames/Pena to return to the lineup to play MI and keep the pitching depth?
Brent Hershey

I'd be inclined to hold, as long as Adames and Pena remain DTD. One or both heads to the IL, maybe then reconsider a trade.

Rostering Edwin Rios as a utility bat in a deep NL-only keeper league. I can't see ABs increasing with LA, but what is his likely upside if he escapes the city of angels? Is that Tellez-type power?
Brent Hershey
12:50
That's a really interesting comp, and YES to just about all the points you make. A great keeper-league bench stash if you have the room.

No word on Paddack so searching the bargain bin for FAAB.  Elijah Morgan worth a $1?  At most will stream for the season if he lands a back end of the rotation gig.
Brent Hershey

Context matters. This sounds like an AL-only, in which case Morgan might be worth $1 as a possible streamer. Low margin for error ... but that's what you find on the wire in deep leagues.

Hi brent,  Al only  5x5 question. - do you like any of these starters-Bradish, archer, silseth, logue and jeffrey springs (who probably wont give any wins)?                        thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:52
Bradish, Silseth, Springs in that order. Not a bad group to choose from in an AL-only, frankly. Bid well!

Hi Brent, I need some help making 4 cuts in a massively deep points league where SP wins and SVs are an order of magnitude more important than any else. Is it time to cut Barnes??? I am currently axing Barnes, Logue, Bass and Montero.

STARTERS: Jose Berrios > Bieber > Montas > Kopech > Winder > Jake Junis > Humberto Castellanos > [CUT LINE] > Zach Logue
CLOSERS: Gallegos > Clay Holmes (good speculation) > Tainer Rainey > Ryan Helsley  > Michael Fulmer > [CUT LINE]  Matt Barnes > Anthony Bass > Rafael Montero

I'd hold Barnes. Velo up last outing, and STILL think that if he's right, BOS hands him that job. Think his probs are mechanical. And I get the frustration as I have him a couple places and have been close to cutting. But am still holding largely b/c I think BOS will give him every shot to correct.
Not sure I see the value in Castellanos; he would be my replacement.
I'd also lean Montero>Fulmer due to team context and Fulmer's awful K and BB #s so far. But, I get it, Soto more precarious than Pressly. The rest looks good

Do you see Jeremy Pena going on the IR with the Dubon acq? With injuries to Meadows and Reyes do you expect Baddoo to get recalled? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
1:00
If Peña/Dubó move was connected, they would have IL'd Peña already. And yes Baddoo could return, but he's a juicy 1-for-9 so far in AAA.

Is Marcus Semien worth a shot in a buy low scenario?
Brent Hershey
1:01
Maybe ... he can't really be this bad ... but I'm not in heavy pursuit.

Chances Kyle Tucker goes 30-30 with his increased walk rate?
Brent Hershey
1:02
That's not too far from our preseason projection (31/24), so yes that's within reach given his 8 SB already

H2H points league, R, RBI and SB all have the same value. Who's the best play this week, Lourdes, Bader, or Jesus Aguilar?
Brent Hershey
1:04
Bader given that offense and 7G schedule

Yasmani Grandal: plate skills holding up well, but power has disappeared. More recently, reports of playing through "leg soreness" and starting to sit more often than usual. He's had his share of slow starts before, but are you concerned? Stashing Danny Jansen a good contingency plan?
Brent Hershey
1:04
A Jansen fan here, so always in favor of stashing him

Aside from his odd pair of steals over the past week, Ozuna has been a mess in the early season. Is he a hold in a 12-teamer (5x5 OBP), or would you consider moving on for someone like Drury, Gimenez, J. Aguilar, Moustakas, or Laureano?
Brent Hershey
1:07
Think Aguilar is the only one I'd consider, and it's close. PT/injury/crappy team context questions on the rest

After a rough start, Kikuchi turned in a pair of strong outings against the Yanks. His two-step this week is nice in any event, but any signs that his improved performance is sustainable to make him a hold rather than a streamer?
Brent Hershey
1:08
Not yet, but def has some appeal as a 2-starter this week. And if he does well, maybe he sticks?

Are you concerned with Verlander's low swinging strike rate? He looks like a pitcher who's about to hit some serious regression right?
Brent Hershey
1:10
Well, skills are not of a sub-2.00 ERA pitcher. But I'm kinda done betting against him at this point. Given that offense, no need to jump ship right now.

Is Luzardo in real trouble...or is it a mellow injury?
Brent Hershey

Not sure, but forearms are the worst.

Is there anything in Austin meadows profile that intrigues you?
Brent Hershey

His contact gains through 100 AB this season are definitely exciting.

Garrett Hampson or Dom Smith?  NL-only, 5x5.  I can keep one of these guys at $1 for the next two years but must drop one today.  I need both speed and power.  Which one is most likely to step up?
Brent Hershey
1:12
Smith; he's just a way better hitter.
Dee Gordon

Will Luis Garcia be called up by Nats sooner than later?
Brent Hershey

It's time, yes. Will they? Who knows.

Better chance for saves: Kinley, Diaz (CIN) Scott?
Brent Hershey

Define "better", lol. Scott, I guess.

Good morning and thanks for doing this every week. I was offered Gallo for Houck in a 5 x 5 15 team mix. Houck is on my bench and I have been holding him hoping for him to find a meaningful role. Does Gallo have any more upside than Houck. I don't have a particular need at pitcher or outfield but want to hold whichever player has the bigger upside in your opinion for the rest of the season.
Brent Hershey

I'd hold Houck.

Just got on so apologize if this has been asked.  Any hope for Kelenic reaching that 9 prospect rating HQ gave him?
