This crossed my mind last week, but looking in quickly, he's severely outpitching his skills. Walk rate is high; doesn't seem like he has swing/miss or K% to overcome. And on a win-now team like Cubs, doubt they are handing the closer job to him. Worth tracking from afar, though, if SwK kicks up and/or control improves.

I would not, no. Not a huge McNeil fan but think more certainty there than Collins.

Big assumption :-) . If Yordan was on a string of 3-4 healthy seasons, then yes. But he's not healthy now, we could plausibly conclude that his cruddy start is related to that, AND he's consistently battled health issues (hand, knees, etc) for the past handful of seasons. So right now, with PCA's start and overall dynamism / youth / 5-category potential, I'm hanging on to that, even while baking in some regression.

Bohm has been sitting on the wire for a few weeks (12-team OBP). Notwithstanding his being buried in the lineup, are you seeing signs of a bounceback? Would you drop Kristian Campbell, Perdomo, or Ivan Herrera (my backup C behind Wm Contreras) for him?

Yes, some signs there. BUT ... realize his ceiling is lower than many other 3B. I don't think I'd drop any of those for Bohm. Maybe you could make the cast for Perdomo ... but he's on a heater that I want to be a part of, really.

Mahle has been pitching well, but is his stuff really good enough for him to continue like that or is he more of a streamer going forward?

Strategy question: I have a competitive roster (currently 6th out of 12) that is significantly underperforming in BA and WHIP. Am I better off trying to dominate the categories that tally counting stats rather than hoping and trying to "fix" the averages categories? I mean, 25% of the season is gone now.

I'd still try to fix here for a couple weeks at least. MEASURE this, though ... log your weekly stats to determine this, b/c you could have a great few weeks, but your YTD may not have moved much. But ... if you're headed in the right direction, you still have 2/3 or 3/4 of the season to move those ratios. Tricky, but def a good question and process to consider.

Baty is coming off a couple of great games. Think he has turned the corner? Maybe he can platoon at 2b on a regular basis and fill in for Vientos more often since Vientos has struggled most of the year?

I'm intrigued, yes. Don't want to over-invest, but OTOH, I've seen him produce and liked the player the times I saw him in the minors. Positional flexibility helps in his case.

Thanks, Brett. NL only, dynasty, 12-team. Always panning for gold with FAAB dart throws. Why is it that everyone except Henry Davis gets a crack at 1B for the Pirates? Is he not a decent post-hype target? 1/1 overall, with a .936 OPS in MILB across nearly 700 AB.

Hi Brent!  There's an unusually large number of TBDs in the 8-day SP matchup report today. I know this happens from time to time. How would you advise us to make choices without it? Is it better to rely on pitcher metrics (e.g. R$, last 5 PQS) or on opponent metrics (e.g. runs scored, handedness)? Thanks!
