Wasn't there a note that he just started wearing glasses in the last few weeks. BB/K numbers seemed to be improving in last couple of weeks, and now he's finally popped some HR this week. Looks like a good time to get on board.

With injuries piling up, have to make some tough calls with limited IL spots. In a keeper league but focused more on this season, who would you drop first among Eury Perez, Jared Jones, and Justin Martinez? Virtually no news on Jones so it’s probably him.
Ray Murphy
12:38
Yeah, that's probably right. Eury is closer and we know more about what he's coming back from. Jones could well ramp up and have setbacks, etc.

Hi Ray,

In my AL-only Scoresheet league, I traded Ober for Bleday.  My reasoning at the time was a fair amount of pitching depth on my team and a perceived need to find a platoon-mate for Wilyer Abreu.
Did I have Bleday rated too high?  Ober is so steady.

Buyer's remorse haunts me.

Thanks and have a great weekend.
Ray Murphy
12:40
Steep price to pay, but Bleday's a nice SS asset. OBP, good corner OF defense, etc. Doesn't exactly make a platoon partner for Wilyer, since they both have the same splits. If he picks it up at all, you'll likely be ok.

Thanks for doing this.  Some of the cellar dwellers are likely to trade away some assets soon.  FOR AL-ONLY:  1.). Who do you see as prime candidates to be traded in the next month or two from LAA, CWS, or others.  2.) Which players do you expect to see a corresponding opportunity for PT to open up on those teams? (Not asking about BAL b/c who knows what they're doing.  Though if you have a view that would be a bonus.).
Ray Murphy
12:41
Does CHW or LAA have anything that a contender would want? Maybe LAA trades Rengifo and clears 2B for Christian Moore. I saw Sam Bachman's on a rehab for LAA too... been a long time, but that's a pedigreed arm that may be worth a look.

Does MHII have enough power to deliver upper echelon value in 12 team mixed leagues?  His handful of steals is nice, but as a $20ish player on draft day, we need more!  Thanks
Ray Murphy
12:42
I've got him on a dynasty team and I'm getting frustrated. Still, curious to see what happens when Acuna comes back and juices this whole lineup.

Rank these OFs 12 team mixed roto; evan carter, toglia, stowers, ward, soler
Ray Murphy
12:44
They're all pretty borderline for a 12-tmr. Stowers #1, I do believe in the breakout we're seeing. Ward is showing some signs of life lately too.

Need to pick up a RP in an NL-only 5x5 keeper league.  Would you rather have Louis Mey or Seth Halverson?  Halverson will be dirt cheap ($1?) while Mey will probably command upwards of $10.
Ray Murphy
12:47
Halvorsen's throwing pretty well, which makes him stand out in that bullpen. Of course they only win one game a week. But I'd probably throw the cheap bid at him and save your FAAB for another need.

Daulton Rushing = lower ABs for W Smith?
Ray Murphy
12:48
No, I don't think so. Talked about this a bit on HQRadio with PD today. Rushing's going to stick since they bumped Barnes off the roster, but I assume it's 1-2 games a week at C and another 1-2 in OF.

In 12-tm H2H category w OBP, how would you rank for immediate overall value India, Lux, Durbin, Baez, L Garcia, Meidroth, Muncy (LAD) Thanks!
Ray Murphy
12:48
Mentioned Muncy above, he pops on this list for sure if he's getting back to his old ways.

Hi Ray - enjoy your segments with PD every week. Churning my roster and picked up Sweeney in Det and Barger in Tor.  Are you optimistic ROS for either in a 12 team roto?
Ray Murphy
12:49
Yeah, Barger's hard-hit numbers are very good. Sweeney's not a big power or speed guy but seems to be settling in there and DET is just leaving him along. He'll rack some counting stats that way with decent BA.

Hello Ray - Flaherty's PQS log is quite the roller coaster. Do you start in Tor today?  He's rate under one.  In general, do you stay away from PQS under 1 or does it depend on your needs?  12 team Roto btw.
Ray Murphy
12:52
He really is a roller coaster. I don't have a hard rule about starting under 1.0. If he's got a 0.7 despite being as rocky as he has been, that tells you how bad TOR lineup has been. Tough call, but I think I'd start him.

12:53
Thanks for doing this today Ray.  12 Team Roto I have Murphy at C.  Baldwin keeps stealing AB from him. Is this now a time-share?  Another guy grabbed Baldwin so I took a flyer on Ballesteros.  Does he stay up?
Ray Murphy
12:53
I think they've decided that Baldwin needs to play at least a little if he's staying up. And obviously they're trying to protect Murphy along the way.

I'll be honest, I don't understand why Ballesteros is up. I am dubious that lasts.

Thoughts on Stephen Kolek?  Stats look great, but they were against the Rockies and Pirates and small sample to boot...
Ray Murphy
12:54
Yeah, let's see how he does against a big-league lineup. GB rate is nice though.

NL only league, would you prefer 3 years of Bubba Chandler or 2 of Chourio?
Ray Murphy
12:54
Cynical me says take two of Chourio, because Chandler is probably going to miss one out of those three anyway. Sorry, PIT fans.
Sidd F
12:55
Caleb Durbin -- still worth keeping?  I have him in mixed 15-team with a bench and NL-only 12 team with no bench, so this is two questions in one.  :)  Thanks!
Ray Murphy
12:55
Not worth keeping if he's not going to run, and so far he's not running.
Carl
12:55
can Landon Knack stick and be a good pitcher?  Plus is K's and wins, maybe.
Ray Murphy
12:55
He could rack up Wins as a 5-and-fly guy for that team. That's the value proposition.

Dear Ray: save me from the Rangers Bullpen.  I'm playing whack-a-mole with all the injuries and blow-ups.  Who will have this job in a month??
Ray Murphy
12:56
Kenley Jansen? I'd try Martin for the short term as mentioned above, but I assume they give up and try to actually solve the problem from outside the org at some point. When is Jon Gray due back?
Ray Murphy

OK, that's our time for today. Thanks for dropping by, enjoy all the action this weekend. Brent will be back to chat in his usual Monday slot. Until then...
