A's fan.  Considering picking up LUrias in AL only but would then drop ABenintendi.  Ugh.  Agonizing over this?  I guess.  Which one more value ROS?
Brent Hershey
12:57
Close, but Urias' eligibility and Beni's repeated health woes swing me Luis's way.

I am new to the NL (NL-only).  KHarrison v. RNelson ROS?
Brent Hershey

Harrison

Hi Brent,  What to do with Muncy? I know its early but digging into his numbers, career lows in BB%, ct%, eye and not even hitting the ball hard w career lows in HctX & xPX.  I'm trying to be patient.  Also have shares of Burger, his BB% and eye are low but at least he was still hitting the ball hard.  Thoughts? Am i looking at the correct info

Hear ya. Bench if you can; track record too good unless it's a shallow league. Think he rebounds.

12-team, AL-only, 4x4 (no strikeouts). I'm scared to start Hoglund in Sacramento against the high xwOBA Mariners...but I NEEEEED the wins.  Looks like he will face Woo (another reason not to expect a win).  BHQ has Hogland rated in the green though so I'm thinking about taking the chance.  Thoughts?
Brent Hershey

Anything can happen; easy to overthink (saying that for myself, too). Hogland showed well in first. Go with it

Hi Brent,

In my 10 team, AL-only Scoresheet league, I'm platooning W Abreu with Ward and Bleday with Adell.  The RH side of those platoons has been terrible so far (OPS under 600).  I'm trying to avoid playing Abreu and Bleday both ways due to extreme platoon splits.

Should I stay the course and hope for Ward and Adell to regress to the norm?  Or do I look to acquire someone like Springer by trading a draft pick?

Thanks for your advice.
Brent Hershey

If it's not too costly, giving you another option with Springer could make sense. Have more faith in Ward to regress to the norm -- do we even know what Adell's "norm" is yet? Tough calls.

Good morning Brent. What's your early take on the hot start by Stowers? Is he a hold as a UTIL-type if looking for power help, or would you prefer any of Jordan Beck, Pavin Smith, Toglia, or O'Hearn? (5x5 OBP)
Brent Hershey
1:01
Intrigued by Stowers, but probably like O'Hearn and maybe Smith a bit better.

LUrias takes over for Urshela at 3B when Gelof returns?  Likely?  or am I totally reaching here?
Brent Hershey
1:03
This was precisely my reasoning in the spots (there were many) where I picked him up over the weekend. Maybe it's reaching, but made too much sense for me. ATH def like what they see in Urias, given his string of starts at 2B.

How long can the Giants keep Birdsong in the bullpen?? They just brought up Harrison for AAA today and talk is he will be in the bullpen.
Brent Hershey
1:03
As long as they need to. He's thriving. But a great 6th starter to roster, obviously.

In 5x5 QS (weekly H2H), would you drop either Taj or Reese Olson to pick up Gonsolin or Giolito for their two-steppers?
Brent Hershey
1:04
No, I don't think so. Certainly like Taj and Olson > Gonsolin for QS
Ronnie

Is Taj Bradley droppable in a 12 team mixed? Four straight duds has me concerned.
Brent Hershey
1:07
Depends on options. Could see it, even though I'm still drawn to his stuff and he pitched kept runs off the board last week (tho admittedly Ks were not there)

Hey Brent, for ROS, would you rather have B.Reynolds PIT or Kurtz ATH? Thanks

Reynolds

Brent, with Westburg BAL getting ready to come off the IL - which player would you drop from Semien TEX, N.Marte CIN, or Westburg? Thanks.
Brent Hershey

Semien

Time to stash Roman Anthony in 12 team mixed redrafts?
Brent Hershey

Probably

Hi Brent, in a 12-team mixed, where we score OBP, SLG and Ks as well, looking to plug my C spot.  Is Jeffers the better play than JTR?
Brent Hershey
1:08
Yeah, slightly, even though JTR probably more AB

Thanks for the chat, Brett. NL-only, 12-team. Scrounging to add saves. Is Zach Agnos capable of running with the Rockies job? Performed well in the minors last year. Not loving the fact that he has 1 K in 7+innings so far. Or is Reed Garrett a better speculative pick as a hedge to a Diaz injury?
Brent Hershey
1:08
I'd go Agnos

True: Jordan Walker has about one week to turn it around or he will be singing the Memphis blues again. Cards have not exactly handled his development in textbook fashion, and he hasn't responded to a near full-time opportunity in 2025. If this were an episode of Seinfeld, I'm out.

Dear Brent: I paid a pretty penny for Nick Kurtz in a few leagues.  I'm in for the long haul so no panic just curious what you have seen so far and if you share my optimism?
Brent Hershey

Not tanking so far. Good sign

Thanks for doing this, Brent.  In a 5x5 15-team mixed, who would you rather have on your bench:  J.P. Crawford, perfectly fine major league hitter; Carlos Santana, who finally showed some of his missing power this weekend; or Jake McCarthy, currently hitting .435/.509/.652 for Reno?  I have to shed someone.
Brent Hershey

Crawford seem rejuvenated in leadoff spot. Perfect bench guy

Hi Brent.  15-team 5x5 mixed.  Must drop one: Brayan Bello, Tony Gonsolin, Tanner Houck, Luis Ortiz.  How would you rank?  Thanks.
Brent Hershey

Houck, though very tough
Brent Hershey

Alright crew, gotta run. Thank you thank you for all the questions and spending this hour-plus here. See ya next week!
