No, don't think I would right now, especially if you have a roster move cap. Remember the Rays follow their own beat; Bradley's AAA results may not matter to them. Upside for him much higher than Morton/Ober.

nl only keeper league and going for it all this year. I have an offer on the table: Arenado, Suwinski and J. Fraley for my $5 T. Estrada. Does Arenado rebound? Will Estrada keep this up? Thank you!
Brent Hershey
12:58
For a go-for-it package, that looks like a steal. It's a given that at some level Arenado will rebound and Estrada will take a step back; getting Suwinski and Fraley also makes this an easy call I'd think. Suwinski especially is probably the second-best (after NA) keeper of this quartet. Sign me up.

Love your work.  Thank you as always.  12-team, AL-only, 4x4 Roto:  roster crunch coming when Liam Hendricks comes off the IL (and others).  Who are the easiest drops out of:  Chirinos, Boyd, Bradish, Maeda?  (Also have MRs of T. Stephan, M. King, and Y. Cano.)   ERA is worst category right now -- WHIP not too bad. Thanks again.
Brent Hershey

Chirinos and Maeda, probably, is where I'd start. Stephan/King/Cano can be super ratio help in an AL only.

Ok, of the following, start which 3 and sit which 2: P Wisdom, J Turner, J Suwinski, J Bell, J Naylor.  Leaning towards playing the first 3.  Thanks!

Play: Suwinski, Naylor, Turner.

Love your stuff!  12-Team AL-Only, 4x4 Roto:  Which bench player has more value from now until ASB and for ROS:  C. Julks (Hou) or Josh Smith (Tex)?
Brent Hershey
1:03
Smith for both; better shot of PT path

In an AL-only league using both saves and holds as categories, which one of these holds guys would you be inclined to trade if you had a good lead in holds?  Jax, Mayza, Topa, Hentges
Brent Hershey

Topa

Has Jose Abreu's shelf life expired?  I have him and Torkleson at great expense at 1B and CI and getting practically nothing in production.  Is it time to cut bait and pick up Pratto or Noda who are available?
Brent Hershey
1:04
Yes to Noda

Morning! In a mixed 5x5, I have H. Bader, who's came off the IL on fire. However, L. Gurriel and J. Duran are available. Who do you think will bring the best value going forward? I also have I. Happ, so need to know if I should stand pat or make a change with either Bader or Happ. THANKS!
Brent Hershey

1) Happ; 2) J Duran

Hi Brent, I’m sitting on three mediocre 1B in my H2H points league — Bell, France, and Abreu — with Bergman as my sole 3B. K. Hates is on the wire and I’m considering dropping Abreu in favor of hk
Brent Hershey

Rough spot. But yes, probably Hayes>Abreu in hopes that youth helps Hayes

Playing in a deep NL-only keeper league. Genesis Cabrera's 38% K rate is in the top 3%, but without a better role (and better command), he does not seem worth an FAAB. He leans on FB and SL but there's 5 pitches in the tool kit. Are his days as an SP behind him? Cards rotation needs a makeover...
Brent Hershey

Given the W Contreras mess this weekend; won't put anything past the Cards ... but this seems unlikely.

Hi Brent. 12-team 5X5 daily lineups league with OBP instead of AVG. Would you drop Ryan McMahon for Jorge Polanco? McMahon has been meh, but I play him only at home against RHP, or when Jazz Chisholm has a day off. Polanco doesn't seem fully healthy yet, but maybe he'll be an upgrade once he gets healthy?
Brent Hershey
1:08
Polanco > McMahon right now, yes. Worth monitoring, though.

How real is the Nolan Arenado slow start and how concerned should we be for his ROS outlook?
Brent Hershey

Track record is strong. He'll rebound unless there's some sort of unreported injury.

Deep 5x5 NL-only. Desperately need active SP who won't hurt ratios, or secondarily SV. Please rank: Houser, Hoeing, Wainwright, Holderman.
Brent Hershey

Rough. Holderman, methinks.

Hi Brent, would you suggest being patient with Gabriel Moreno in deep formats or possibly moving on (league is 16 teams with 33-man rosters and keepers; H2H categories with OPS, SVH, WQS)? Skills don’t seem to point to much of an uptick in the near-term and I have Bethancourt (with better power skills) holding things down at C. Replacement options (maybe slightly asymmetric, but I like the skills they’ve displayed now or in the past) are either Louie Varland or Chris Martin, both of whom I acquired last night. Thanks!
Brent Hershey
1:10
I believe in Montero; but Bethancourt more punch. Varland could be more valuable than both.

As always, thanks for doing these chats! Currently on our NL 10 team 5x5 waiver wire sit: Burleson, B Doyle, P Smith.  Any worth a flier (I would waive S Hilliard) I am leaning toward Doyle but I have no idea how much FAAB he's worth.
Brent Hershey
1:11
Smith, then Doyle > Hilliard. Think Burleson is going to get shafted or sent down soon

Hiya, Brent!! Howdy all!!

I'm in a 12 team mixed (head to head) and am thinking of trying to upgrade my 2B via trade. I have McNeil and I'm targeting Arraez. But the closer i look the less sure he's an upgrade and worth giving up additional assets for. avg/obp/slg/r/rbi/sb are the categories.

Thoughts??

TY!! =)
Brent Hershey

Like Arraez over McNeil. Won't hit 400, but more pop there

Given the amount SP blowups that have littered the landscape over the first month, how would you adjust your roster moving forward in a H2H categories league: would you add more pitching depth to combat the blowups or invest more in offense and ride the weekly wave of pitching stats?
Brent Hershey
1:13
probably the latter ... EVERYONE is getting bit by the SP blowups.

Brent - any thoughts on what the Padres should do with Juan Soto?  They gave up a ton for him and the results have been disappointing to say the least.  Hard to see them signing him to a big long term contract, but can they trade him?
Brent Hershey
1:14
Like a fantasy owner's top pick, you just have to ride him out. Feel like chances of an in-season extension are withering away

Rephrasing question: in 5x5 which SP and OF do you like more ROS? (i) Grayson Rod or Detmers and (ii) Grichuk or Suwinski?
Brent Hershey
1:15
My bad ... Detmers and Suwinski. Thanks for the clarification!

Will Wilson Contreras moving out from behind the plate have an actual effect on the Cards pitching?  Matz had better results in one start.    Not sure it fixes their defensive issues, in any case.
Brent Hershey
1:16
Yes, I think it can, broadly -- but would not take one Matz start as support. Whether it's the right move or not is another story.
