I saw Butler/NA and NA/PR last week.  Morton continues to impress me as he makes it look easy. I saw there was an article about Butler's "sharp shooters", but it is really tough to gauge because they get such wide open looks.  Imagine the NA kid with the funny name or the PR point guard playing with Morton...they would rain 3's.  Truth is Morton has very little support. Carney and the other freshman are very promising, tho. Butler will be very tough next year.   Likewise, nice game by Petcash agaist NA.  Luellen (sp?) played well, too.
I think PR considerably better from top to bottom, but Morton will be the best player on the court.  What do you think of Butler/PR tonight?

Will be an interesting game. Hard to pick winner. But I'll go with Pine. As far as other players, of course players on other teams would benefit playing with Morton. He gets people shots. That's why Clement and Carney are open more often for 3-pointers. Will Pine use same defensive philosophy as last time and let Morton get his points? But try to shut down the others?

Mike , definitely Midland- Aliquippa at least once more. I still got those Masters badges and now picked up 4 to the Women's Amateur final at Augusta the Saturday before Masters week. Good trade for Steeler CLUBHOUSE  playoff tickets.

Do you personally think the WPIAL and Pennsylvania as a whole should enforce a 35 second shot clock? Many other states have had it for years already.

I wouldn't say "many" other states have it. As of 2017-18 season, nine states had it. Yes, I would like shot clock, but I think fewer teams are playing "slow" these days. Some just don't have players to "make plays." Therefore, they just can't score. Most common complaint I hear about it is cost. True, it might cost a couple thousand to install and then you have to pay someone to run it every game, and teach them the rules. There is definitely a cost factor. That said, I think it can be manged.

I would like to see Pittsburgh bring back the Dukes, Pitt, Bobby Mo and I think it was Point Park in the Christmas BB tourney. Enjoyed it.

You might be talking about the Steel Bowl? That went by the wayside in late 1970s. But it was great. But Robert Morris and Point Park were never in it I don't think. Remember, Robert Morris was a junior-college program at first. Steel Bowl used to have Pitt, Duquesne and two out-of-town teams. Usually, two top out-of-town teams. UCLA in its great years of Wooden played in Steel Bowl. But that will never come back. No way.

Someone asked earlier. I know one finalist is Tim Sasson, fine line coach for Eric Kasperowicz at Pine-Richland. Have not confirmed others. They expect to name a coach maybe late this week or next???

I guess with Peter's Township Girls height and length they have become the 6A favorite to win the WPIAL. Does NA or Norwin have a chance of knocking them off this year?

No, North Allegheny has absolutely no chance. ... C'mon. NA is undefeated also. Beat Peters in last year's title game. They have Division I players also. Until they get knocked off, I would say NA is the favorite. But I think Peters is better than a year ago.

That game was shocking. I saw Nate Ridgeway of Sewickley only had four points and took only four shots. He averages 20. Maybe he was hurt? I don't know.

I hate comparing brothers. I just don't think it's fair. Cam's stock went way up his senior year. He grew something like 4 inches or so from junior to senior years. But I don't think anyone could've predicted he would be this good at a place like UNC. As for Donovan, just going by recruiting, he is being recruited by more D-1s than Cam was a junior. Johnsons have two things going for them. They're big and they can shoot.
