That's a good question. I've thought about that. You have to include City League in there. Gotta go with Latrobe's Fenton-Butler, Allderdice's Blaufeld-Clifford, Pine's Petcash-Shulkosky. I couldn't choose between them yet.

This could change but right now I'd say Pine and Mt. Lebanon. Latrobe is right there. USC not far behind and can't forget Butler also. Pine coach Jeff Ackermann said it best last week. He sees maybe 5-6 teams have a chance. I agree.

North Allegheny refused to host any WPIAL basketball playoff games last year.  Has that been resolved  to your knowledge?

Not sure of that answer. We'll find out Tuesday night. Don't know if AD and WPIAL have made up or not.

Looks like PIAA took automatic away from D-6 in 6A Boys Basketball (Altoona, State College). With this move now D-6, D-8 (Allderdice), and D-10 (Kennedy, McDowell) will have to play a subregional for 2 6A spots in boys basketball.

4 teams will play in sub regional. Dist 10 champ, City League champ and Dist. 6 champ. Fourth team will be determined by power rankings. Two teams from sub regional will go to PIAA playoffs.

Haven't really been laying in bed at night thinking about the top 5 athletes in Jeannette history. I'll go out on a limb and say Terrelle Pryor should maybe be No. 1.

Brandon Sensor has done a very good job. Heck, team is winning again. Give him credit.  Had lot of experience back. Even though team didn't make playoffs last year, they did not have a senior on the team.

Revis or Pryor?  Who was the better hooper?

Pryor. Revis was really good. But Pryor impacted game more ways. Don't forget he was 6-6. Dominated in many ways. 39, 24 and 10 in WPIAL final as a senior. Enough said.

Coach Mike Mastroianni of Quaker Valley is closing in on 500 wins.  I think he has 493 going into tonight.  Do you see him getting to 500 this season?

Not sure of his total. I'll buy it that he has 493. Three regular season games left. If he wins those three, I'll say he gets 500. I think he wins four in postseason.

Better teams, Wash High in the 80s or Ringgold in the early to mid 90s?

That's a really good question. Ringgold played in the largest class. Wash High was Double-A. Man, that's interesting. I loved those Wash High teams with Brian Davis, the Popeck brothers. Ringgold with Yancey Taylor, Brian Miller. Hmmm. I'd have to think about it. Funny thing is Ringgold's team that didn't win the state championship might have been better than the one that won it.
