In 6 A girls, there is a potential for a three-way tie for fourth place.  Do all get in?
Mike White
12:05
Yes there is a potential for three-way tie in both 6A girls sections. But I don't see it happening. In North section, Butler is 4-5, Hempfield and Pine are 3-6. Hempfield has to play NA. I don't see Hempfield winning. If Hempfield loses, Pine must beat Butler to get in. So Butler already is in. Other section, no way Bethel beats USC, I say. Baldwin already in. If Bethel loses to USC and Peters beat CMac, Peters is in.

Is the WPIAL using follow the leader or playbacks this year for the PIAA playoffs
Mike White
12:06
No, there will be play-backs.

Watched the USC/Lebo game the other night. Those 2 fanbases REALLY do not like each other. The hatred was palpable. Would you say they are in the top 5 of most intense rivalries in the WPIAL ?
Mike White

Yes, they're up there.

Mike, why should Hampton be penalized because Kramer is out for the playoffs?  In the NBA you get seeded where you are based on record, not by who is available to play.  In college you get in the tournament based on your record and the quality of teams you beat.  Never is it based on who missed games for injury or who won't have people there.  EVERY TEAM has injuries and things they go through that not everyone knows about that is on the basketball committee.  Most of those guys on the committee only see a handful of games anyways so they are most likely swayed by people in the media

You can't compare it to the NBA. There is no committee in the NBA. So stop that comparison. And injuries have matterd in the past in NCAA. If you're supposed to base teams on how good they are, or how good you think they are, there is no way you CAN'T consider Peter Kramer not playing. They are a different team without him. Doesn't mean they still can't be successful, but no way they are the same team. That has to be factored in. Doesn't mean they should be dropped to 7 or 8, but I don't think they should be No. 2. Just my opinion.

If Peters beats Bethel, shouldn't Bethel drop to much lower in the seedings for 5A?  That section isn't exactly very good, and Bethel hasn't had many, if any, non section games against any good teams.  It seems the sections with Penn Hills and North Hills should be rewarded more because they are in a grind.  It seems like they get love and attention because their coach was a former great player....doesn't mean the team is really good
Mike White

No doubt Bethel will drop if they lose to Peters. I think possibly No. 7.

Did you happen to catch replay of Neumann Goretti-Roman Catholic game this weekend on PCN? Neumann won by 2. Just a different level of ball than WPIAL. That said though, with two D1 guards in Cummings and Thomas if LP makes it to Hershey you think they would have legit shot against Neumann?
Mike White
12:11
Of course they would have a shot. Every team has a shot. And of course, Philly basketball is much better than WPIAL. No one has ever said it isn't. If Lincoln Park got that far, no doubt they would have to be considered underdog. But WPIAL teams have won some games against Philly teams before.
