city league girls teams rarely advance past the 1st round of the PIAA playoffs. That being said with the experience and athletes Allderdice has , do you think they can make a deep run in said playoffs?

Interesting game. Moon has interim coach in Megan Mastroianni, after that crazy situation out there. Mars has playoff experience. But I think I'll go Moon.

I took Mars at start of playoffs. I don't think 5A is as good as recent years, at least in terms of quality teams. I think it has to be Penn Hills, Mars or Char Valley.

The 5 and 6A All section teams were released yesterday.  Lots of really good players and coaches were honored. Any idea how these teams are selected?

That's done by the Big 56 association. Coaches all get together and vote. We at the Post-Gazette pick our own all section teams, based strictly on coaches voting. But we only pick 5 players. Big 56 picks 7 first teamers. Post-Gazette all section teams come out at end of season.

Not in person. Just highlights. Obviously he's good. Has number of offers. Keep hearing Pitt has excellent chance to get him. Would be nice for Pitt. Would love to see a state playoff matchup with McDowell and Butler. They played last year.

I would say girls have the better chance, but boys also have a decent chance. As I said, 5A boys isn't great.

Yes, they have a chance. Fab 5 can be hard many years, but it's particularly hard this year because there just aren't that many players who are standouts. After you get through one or two, there are probably 10 more who could make it. Honestly, what some players do in postseason will matter.

I saw the Coach Nesbit the Shaler's Girls coach got 6A coach of the year for their division, and they didn't even make the playoffs.  Have you seen that happen before.

Nope. No chance. I informed Tim O'Malley and the WPIAL that game should be canceled because Baldwin doesn't have a chance. C'mon. Yes there is a chance. Not a good chance but Baldwin recently lost to Bethel Park by only 58-49 and Mt. Lebanon 56-48. So maybe Baldwin will be in the game.

Ahhhh, I wouldn't say that. Obviously, they are good. But me personally, along with others, don't think they should've gotten the No. 2 seed after the loss to Upper St. Clair. I think they should've been No. 4.

Not a dumb question at all. I would say Central Valley. They have one of the top players in the WPIAL in Isiah Warfield (Liberty recruit). He came to Central Valley this year from Sewickley Academy. Central Valley started to figure things out late in the season, but couldn't get in. Shame they are in such a tough section when other sections are nowhere near as good.
