Looking at Girls Class 6 - it seems ridiculous that most teams are playing teams for the 3rd time - why not have the sections play cross section - Pine Richland and Butter are comparable to Baldwin and Peters - instead Lebo is playing CV and NA is playing Pine Richland and now USC is playing Peters for the 3rd time - Boring....

I guess they just tried to truly seed the teams. And with only two sections and eight teams making the playoffs, WPIAL's hands are tied sometimes if they want to truly seed teams.

Friday nights, obviously. And favorite time of year is quarterfinals and semifinals of WPIAL basketball playoffs. In a high school gym, those semifinal and even quarterfinal games have electricity in gym. ... Well, of course they do. How do you think they get lights on?

He beat me once in a 2 on 2 game in his driveway while I was attending a July 4th party at my sister's house in North Allegheny. So I wasn't too happy with him then.

Hey Mike, I know you wrote an article about Penn Hills getting the 2 seed and how it was ridiculous.  Why do the guys on the committee get a free pass for every decision they make and nobody holds them accountable?  They say a couple things to the press like "we went with the team that was hot," and then its silence afterwards when everyone knows it is a lie.  Peters got the 1 seed and won by only 11.  Fox Chapel beat TJ, South Fayette beat Shaler.  Two of these games were home games and FC got a better matchup than Woody High, who finished hot, in round 1.  All 3 AD's are on the committee.  How does this happen???  The committee needs to change and have former coaches on it who know the game and have no agenda towards a school.  MAKE IT HAPPEN!  It hurts the WPIAL product

Don't disagree with you one bit. And I know it keeps happening. But I disagree that they aren't called out. I've questioned it in stories before and also criticized them on podcasts. I wrote about Penn Hills not getting No. 1 seed and how their resume was better. Now Peters Township may very well go on and win WPIAL. But that doesn't mean Penn Hills still shouldn't have gotten No. 1 seed. I feel WPIAL gets unfairly criticized for some things, but a few of the basketball playoff brackets the past few years are real head scratchers. And that's not just me saying it. Tons of coaches always. There are always complaints from coaches. Have been for decades. But a few of the complaints the past few years have been legit.

WPIAL told me the higher seeded team in the WPIAL playoffs will probably get home game in the play-back games. They will start play-backs immediately after quarterfinals. So I would imagine even Saturday or Monday. They will be all next week.

Uniontown has some size. North Catholic has no size. But you have to defend the ball against North Catholic and that's not always easy. Key will be Uniontown's defense and how well NC shoots the 3.
