Omg u actaully gave Gallagher some credit! I think people seem to forget that he has 20 POWER 5 basketball offers!! And its just funny how people feel he is not a fab 5 player in wpial! These guys scoring alot of pts in smaller classes n inferior talent gets more love than the best pg in wpial!! Gave lincoln park 35 againt cummings n Thomas !! Was clearly best player on the floor!! Hilarious

And he deserved all of them. And he most certainly has chance at Fab 5 again. But take your "we get no respect" stuff somewhere else.

Could the New Castle team with the Hooker brothers of beaten Schenley with Blair and Onion in a best of 7?

First off, New Castle's best team was 2014 with Malik Hooker and there were no other Hooker brothers on that team. Other two Hooker brothers came later. And no, no New Castle team would've beaten Blair, Kennedy, Kane and Onion. I loved that 2014 New Castle team. But 2007 Schenly was in a different world.

Three-time defending girls WPIAL Class 1A champ Rochester losing to St. Joseph last year was surreal. But biggest upset I say is Canevin boys beating Beaver Falls, 57-55, in 1986. Beaver Falls was 21-1, defending champ, heavy favorite and had tons of talent. Canevin was 11-13 and had nowhere near Beaver Falls' talent. Still don't know how that happened.

Another big one was in girls in 1980. North Hills was No. 1-ranked team. Beat Shaler for section title. They played Penn Hills. North Hills was huge favorite. Had Leigh Curl (now Baltimore Ravens doctor), who played at UCONN. Had two other players who played Division I. Penn Hills won. To show how good North Hills was: North Hills beat Shaler for section title. Shaler went on and won state championship.

"Making a run" in 6A has different meaning this year. Playoff start in quarterfinals. You win two games and are in championship. 6A is very balanced. No great, great team, but New Castle is definite favorite. It would be title No. 8 for Ralph Blundo.

We have a JV baseball tab coming out this year. Mt. Lebanon's JV will be on cover. Look for it. If it isn't delievered at your doorstep, call Mt. Lebanon AD John Grogan. We are sending him about 100 copies. I hear Mt. Lebanon JV has the next Stan Musial.
