Mike, thank you for the chats. Which coaches in WPIAL do you believe could make the cleanest transition to NCAA D1 and/or the NFL? Do any have that sort of potential? I watch a lot of WPIAL, NCAA and NFL ball and am convinced many WPIAL coaches are just as talented as their colleagues in the professional ranks.

So....with Butler and Albert Gallatin no longer in the WPIAL, can either of them make any playoffs this year?  Who would they play off against to make it into the PIAA playoffs?

Albert Gallatin is totally independent. No playoffs for them. Butler is an associate member of District 10. They play Erie High next weekend and the winner plays McDowell for the District 10 6A championship.

How much does a scholarship cost to many of these expensive private schools? How does that not qualify as paying students?

Who says they are all getting scholarships? And it's not scholarships. It's aid based on need. And at some places, if they "need" you, they somehow find you "aid." Not all. But at some.
