Bishop Canevin. With any kind of coaching from Gino Palmosina, Canevin should go undefeated, win every game by at least 20 points and win a state championship, beating a Philly team by 25 in final. Again, that's with any kind of coaching.

Mike, any word on where the WPIAL will host the basketball finals this upcoming season?  Is the Pete back in play?  Maybe Duquesne's new facility?  RMU?  or staying with last years sites of NA and Peters Twp.?

It hasn't been announced yet, but it will probably be the Pete. Robert Morris and Duquesne aren't big enough to host doubleheaders with larger schools.

Not for a while. First off, the WPIAL has to wait until the PIAA releases classifications for all schools. That will be in early December. Then the steering committees for all sports have to get together to decide on conference and section makeups. You won't get anything probably until January.

Mike, alot of hub bub last week about the correction of enrollment numbers to the PIAA due to now only counting your technical school students as only 10% (even if they are at your school) but it looks like alot of small WPIAL schools would be pushed down to 1A with this. I know my Prexies fit the single A cutoff now

Well, to be honest. A lot of WPIAL schools were doing it wrong. They either didn't understand or didn't read what PIAA put out. Don't blame the PIAA. Because a lot of schools did it the right way.

It seems McKeesport has not received a lot of respect losing in the semi-final this year.  They should have won just missing a short field goal.  They have a strong group of players coming back next year.  Maybe next year is their year.  Thoughts?

I have seen a lot of MtL football in my years but this is a VERY good squad! (could be the best ever!)  I have also seen a lot of reporters in that time but you are one of the best!!

LOL. Why thank you, SicilianDevil. Yes, this team is really good. But let me tell you, those Art Walker teams in early 80s were really, really good. 1980 and 1981 were loaded. Number of D-1 kids. The 1979 team that lost in the mud in the semifinals might have been best. Many D-1 kids, including John Frank, who won Super Bowls with Joe Montana and the 49ers.

Woodland Hills is definitely 3A. But they haven't decided if they will play 3A, 4A or 5A.

Don't know yet. WPIAL has to wait to see definite classifications, which are revealed by PIAA in early December. They need to wait to see who is playing "up."
