Wow. I really can't predict all that far ahead. We haven't even had a game yet.

Do you think fort cherry and Matt Sieg will get that state title.
Mike White
11:23
I'd say 50-50. Fort Cherry obviously very good, but after seeing what Bishop Guilfoyle did to Westinghouse, obviously BG is very good.

What is going on at Chartiers Valley athletics? Fired their football staff, now hearing there is a special board meeting tonight to have them reinstated?? CV just can’t seem to get out of the spotlight. Last year fired their basketball coach mid-season, this year the football coach. Always seem to be making headlines for all the wrong reasons!
Mike White
11:23
Yes, I saw where there is meeting tonight. Not a good look for Char Valley basketball last year and now football.

Do you think Pierre LaRouche could help on the power play?
Mike White
11:24
Only if Steve Durbano punches someone.

Out of all the football teams that didn’t make the WPIAL championships, which team were you surprised the most didn’t make it to the final stage?
Mike White
11:26
Probably Aliquippa. Just because of history and they had made it 16 years in a row. Not surprised at all they lost to TJ, but at beginning of season you had to think they'd make it to final. Not having some players for playoffs didn't help - and they will be back, though. Should be really good again next year.

Could 2A Sewickley Academy be the best team in the WPIAL this season??  I feel bad for the small public schools they will beat up on this season.
Mike White
11:26
Don't know. Haven't seen them yet.
South Park Wins
11:26
How about that 2A game?  South Park is just solid team.  A lot  were not giving them a chance Saturday.  Some didn't think they'd get past Mohawk, or Ellwood City.
Mike White
11:27
Brian Abbey has done wonderful coaching job there. Moving down to 2A certainly helped, but that isn't meant as a shot at them. They really turned into an excellent team.
Jimmy
11:27
How impressed were you with South Park? Were you shocked that they were able to control Seton like they did?
Mike White
11:29
I wouldn't say "shocked" but certainy a little surprised. Seton was thought to have lot of offensive weapons. But I've seen it many times before. Teams put up ridiculous scoring stats in regular season, but it's a different game in playoffs when you're playing good teams.

Thank you for your previous insights on Fab 22 selection process.  Do you also take into account All-Conference selections? For example, player is “big time” recruit and doesn’t make 1st team for their respective conference… seems that would speak volumes regarding their current year on field performance
Mike White
11:30
We certainly look at all conference teams. They are voted on by the coaches, so that gives some insight.
Mr Ed
11:30
Baldwin boys should make a lot of noise this year, no? 6A runner up last year now drop down to 5A and I believe have 4 starters back?
Mike White
11:31
4 of 5 starters back from last year. They should be very good. I'll tell you that we have them No. 1 in 5A in preseason. Rankings will come out tomorrow.
Alex Divitto

Ed Thompson is who I’m talking about you and him were talking smack on the younger creators for being out for the coin toss, we know your schemes, and you’re going down!
Mike White
11:34
OK, I have no idea who Ed Thompson is. And are you talking about the Tweet I made Saturday about all the people on the field for coin toss? Yeah, I never have seen so many people, whoever they were. I have no idea who they were. And if they were all the so-called "creators," great for them. But you got it, I have all kind of "schemes" about coin toss. Good luck and best wishes to you in your creations.

How good do you think Indiana Boys Hoops this year will be with both the Webb brothers, Stanford and Aaron returning?
Mike White
11:36
Well, they were 8-13 last year. So with those two returning, they could definitely be better. Aaron is the sophomore. How big is he now? I've heard 6-6 or so?
Char Val Mess

Mike its a huge mess. The school board makes Pittsburgh City Council of the Michelle Madoff, Sophie Masloff, Jeep Dipasquale days look functional. Its an embarrassment

Great job reporting on finals and the season. Even tho a dad went online to cry about his kid not being the star of an article.  But really, its about the dad not getting to live vicariously. Do they even live where they play????
Mike White
11:37
I'm sorry, but I don't know who you are talking about. Send me back another message. Who is it?
4A
11:37
Read this morning that Knoch brings back 4 starters.  Playing a tough non section schedule what are your thoughts on them
Mike White
11:39
We seem to have a weekly question about Knoch. Yes, they should be very good in 4A. Four starters back. One was an all section guard, son of the coach. Jackson Bauman. Zane Pacek is the 7-footer. Derek Lank is 6-8 and back. And Teegan Finucan at 6-2 is back. Coach told me another top returner would be Kaden Spencer, but he got hurt in football and is out for season.

Who is Alex Divitto?
Mike White
11:39
No idea. Apparently someone who creates.
Brotha Chris

I know Farrell isn’t in the WPIAL, but how about Kylon Wilson (Farrell ‘23) from Slippery Rock. Had that viral catch at the Deestroying event and is making a big impact at Slip as a kickoff returner and wide receiver.
Mike White
11:40
He was very good in high school

I was at TJ/Clearfield. Crazy to me that I believe held Hayes and Spell to about 70 yards each in successive weeks, but had some trouble at times with Clearfield's running game....a little more difficult from the eye test standpoint, anyway.    It was a testament to Cherp and staff that they hit a long td pass to White on their first drive.  Now feeling them out...their scouting must've been very good.    They hit White for another deep score as well.  They eventually doubled him much of the time, but I think they could've had White deep anytime they want.  Most underrated player in the WPIAL...I'd say is Kosko.   He has poise and throws a very nice ball.   TJ just happens to run disproportionately this year, but I think Kosko will be the "X" factor (no pun intended) if they win states.    I've seen more talented TJ teams, but this one plays very well as a team.
Mike White
11:42
Brayden White, I would say, has been one of the biggest "breakout" players in WPIAL. Turned into a top player. Cherp said FCS and some MAC schools are now getting in on him. I do like Kosko. Funny. Last year he split time at QB and they threw more. They don't throw as much this year. They don't need to. Example of Cherpak adjusting to personnel.

Don't forget Sieg runs Track too! Part of a state champion 4x100 last year correct?
Mike White
11:43
You're right. Glad you brought that up. I knew that but forgot about it. I think he ran something like a 10.8 100 as a freshman.

do you think sieg will break the career yardage record? He is also on pace to get the touchdown record as well.
Mike White
11:46
Barring injury (cross your fingers), he will no doubt break both. Heck, he's only maybe somewhere around 1,000 yards away now from yardage mark. I don't have exact number in front of me. And he's only 10 TDs away from record of 117, held by Tyler Boyd and Lamont Wade.

Hi Mike. I know there have been a few questions releated to Sewickley A, but I was thinking about transfers in general. Is the loophole having the kids enrollled before 9th grade.  The schools can’t be penalized for that correct?
