He was hurt early and never recovered. I don't really think it's worth giving up on any prospect based on a rough year that began with a lengthy stint on the IL.

Would like to see Twins acquire a Victor Robles type : past hype - still youngish - should not cost much in trade capital- RH hitter and good glove —— your thoughts?
Steve Adams
3:59
He's provided next to no offense in the Majors. If the Twins can get him at a discount and aren't relying on him as a regular in the outfield, sure. But I wouldn't feel good heading into a season where part of the plan was 500+ PAs from Victor Robles.

Is there a possibility that the twins do a Clase like extension with Duran?
Steve Adams

I can't speak to Duran's openness to such a deal, but if I were the Twins I'd be offering that exact contract to him and pushing the guarantee forward a bit if need be. Duran's a monster.

The Athletic said the Twins are one of the teams that would be a nice fit for Jameson Taillon. Do you agree, and do you think I will get in on him?
Steve Adams
4:02
Taillon would give the Twins another No. 3-ish type to plug into a rotation full of guys who are No. 3-ish types when they're at their best. (I guess you could say Sonny Gray's a bit more than that.) On the one hand, it's not bad to have a bunch of mid-rotation guys... better that than like one ace and a bunch of fifth starters who are liable to get blown up at any point. On the other, I don't know who of Taillon/Gray/Mahle/Ryan/Maeda/Ober/Winder you're looking at as your clear-cut Game 1-2 starters in a playoff series. Plus, Taillon could cost them a pick and a three- or even four-year deal in the $13-14MM range, so he's not going to be super cheap.
4:03
If the Twins are going to sign a free agent SP who rejects a QO, they should just cannonball into the deep end and sign Rodon. I don't think they will, but they have a decent number of guys who can already kind of approximate what Taillon does.

Does the front office more deserve credit, for landing Correa last year, or blame, for not doing more to take advantage while they had him?
Steve Adams
4:05
It can be both, can't it? Landing Correa was an objectively great move for the team -- a transformational signing that sends a signal that the Twins can be players for big-name free agents in the future. They also went patchwork on the bullpen and loaded up on five-inning starters that exacerbated the shaky relief corps.

The Twins have a lot of money to play around with this off season. I guess as a fan, do you think we can expect the FO to make a change and sign some big marquee players or 5-10 mill here and there and piece together some stop gaps?
Steve Adams
4:06
The Twins signed Josh Donaldson for $23MM per year in 2019 and Carlos Correa for $35.1MM per year in March. I guess I don't really think it's fair to characterize signing a major free agent as "making a change"; they've been more than willing to spend on notable free agents in recent offseasons, and I expect them to sign some notable names this winter.

Is Alcantara completely untouchable like maybe Ohtani?
Steve Adams
4:07
I can't see any scenario where the Marlins trade four years of Alcantara

What kind of return could the Twins get for Pagán at this moment? Twins fans cried every time he entered a game this last season, yet management still saw a reason to hang onto him…
Steve Adams

Pagan keeps bouncing from team to team because front offices believe in the raw stuff even though the results are mediocre, at best. Aaron Gleeman has reported that the Twins had some deadline interest in Pagan, and I know of a couple clubs that feel he's still an intriguing guy based on his stuff. I think they'll trade him for a forgettable return, but that's probably better than a non-tender, I guess.

Ok I have to run to get my son from daycare. This was a lot of fun. Thanks for everyone who joined in, and sorry for any questions I couldn't get to. I'm on Twitter @Adams_Steve if you're so inclined and always happy to take more questions there.
