Should, yes. Will, probably also yes
Chaim Bloom

A lot of different names floating around attached to the Red Sox (Story, Rodon, Schwarber, Seiya Suzuki) who in your opinion from names still out there seems most realistic for the Red Sox 2022 season?
Anthony Franco
5:13
Schwarber feels most plausible of that group. They obviously like him, he's already on record about liking the city
Ben
5:14
Would it be a Smart move to try to sign Riley longterm like Albies and Acuna? And what would it cost AA?
Anthony Franco
5:14
Interesting question. I'd need to do more research on comps to peg down a specific number, but a Riley deal would be a lot more costly and/or come with lesser windows of club control than either of the Albies/Acuna contracts
5:15
He's already got two years of service, banked a million and a half signing bonus as a first-rounder

Would Pache, Waters, K.WRight, Toussant & Contrearas be enough to land Soto from the Nats?
Anthony Franco
5:15
Nationals aren't trading Soto, no
David
5:15
What do you think the AL West looks like next year? Rangers, Mariners and Angels are all taking steps forward, Astros are taking a step back, and the As look to be selling.
Anthony Franco
5:16
I think it might the most interesting division in baseball. I still lean Astros as the favorite, but Seattle could do more after the lockout to sway me on this
Budb
5:17
was mvp Belli a mirage
Anthony Franco
5:17
Mirage is kind of harsh, since he's had other good years mixed in there
But yeah, I think a 161 wRC+, 8-win season is going to go down as the best year of his career
Nicholas
5:17
Would the Cardinals be interested in Carlos Rodon?
Anthony Franco
5:18
I feel like they might just look for back-end innings rather than a boom-or-bust type who'll probably be pretty costly

What's your opinion of the possible Tampa/Montreal sharing scenario?
Anthony Franco
5:18
No idea if it's feasible
Intentional Walk
5:18
Gut feeling -- Does Correa's contract surpass Seager's contract?
Anthony Franco
5:18
Yeah
Chris you
5:18
Best position player on rangers in. 2023
Anthony Franco
5:18
Corey Seager
Budb
5:18
normal extra innings ever coming back?
Anthony Franco
5:19
Hope so. At least give us a normal 10th and 11th and then get gimmicky in the 12th
Al Kaline battery
5:20
Does the proposal for a 14 team playoff structure affect the length of the regular season? We're already pushing into November as it is
Anthony Franco
5:21
I don't think so, that just means forfeiting gate and TV money
Fever Pitch Guy
5:21
Wouldn’t the runner starting on first be more fair? Still leaves the DP possibility open. Starting on 2nd is just too easy to score. Stop tinkering with baseball!!!
Anthony Franco
5:22
I mean, I'd scrap it altogether. But I think the 12th inning second baseman makes the most sense as a potential compromise
Denver Guy
5:22
Ryan McMahon a possible under the radar trade option for some 3B needy team? Fantastic defender, can play anywhere on the infield, and some lefty power. Rockies have some 3B kids that need playing time too.
Anthony Franco
5:22
I don't see the Rockies trading McMahon at a time when they're trying to contend
5:23
GM Bill Schmidt has floated the possibility of even bumping McMahon up the defensive spectrum to shortstop as a Story replacement
John
5:24
Why did teams wait out the lockout to jump on the As and Reds firesales?
Anthony Franco
5:25
Free agency just moved faster. Had enough players motivated to find a landing spot that there wasn't a whole lot of time for front offices to hammer out huge trades amidst the frenzy
FletcherFan69
5:25
What kinda season do you see Rendon having? More decline, or more like the MVP candidate from a couple years ago??
Anthony Franco
5:25
The boring but often true answer to this kind of question is typically "somewhere in the middle."
5:26
But I think he'll be closer to MVP candidate Rendon than average Rendon moving forward
Jerry Dipoto
5:26
Should I bank on Kelenic and Lewis being solid regulars this season? Or do I need to go get another outfield piece, say Seiya Suzuki
Anthony Franco
5:26
No reason to not keep your options open, but I don't think outfield's a real need. Kelenic, in particular, I'd trust to be reliable
5:27
Lewis is good, but I don't know how much you can bank on the knee holding up
CubsFan2021
5:27
With the Cubs signing Gomes do the Cubs trade Contreras?
Anthony Franco
5:27
Yeah I think he's elsewhere by Opening Day
