With the way the Marlins FO has been thus far what moves, if any, do you see them making before opening day?
Anthony Franco
4:41
Feels like they have to deal a starting pitcher for offensive help right? There was so much talk about that possibility. They haven't done it, but dealing one of Rogers, López or Garrett for a bat is a must. Can't run it back with the same offense they had this year
Chris
4:42
Why'd profar opt out? And will he get less than the 2 and 26 he passed on
Anthony Franco
4:43
Profar passed on one year and $6.5MM
He'll beat that. I'd take the under on 2/26, but that wasn't the calculation
Bill
4:43
Given the Reds payroll is lower this coming year, do you see them making any big moves or just minor signings?
Anthony Franco
4:44
Nothing major this offseason. With Moustakas and Votto off the books next winter, playing more in the middle tiers of free agency is viable
Sparky Griswold
4:44
Thankful for these chats... most improved teams from this offseason?  Least improved?
Anthony Franco
4:45
Texas and the Angels both got markedly better in my view. Tough offseason for Minnesota, though they're not done
Ol Perfesser
4:46
Gleybor Torres and a mid-level prospect for Max Fried, who says NO!
Anthony Franco
4:46
Atlanta, easily
Steven
4:46
Do the braves make any significant moves this off season or just roll out with what they have
Anthony Franco
4:46
The Sean Murphy trade was a significant move. I think that's the big one
4:47
Never expected them to be all that active in free agency with where the payroll was at. Thought they might be aggressive attacking the trade market for a left fielder, and maybe they still will on a Kepler type, but Murphy's going to be their biggest acquisition
Toronto Blues
4:48
Toronto hangs on to all 3 Catchers, T or F.
Anthony Franco
4:48
Still lean towards false, albeit with less conviction than I did a month ago
Marco
4:49
In your opinion, is Andrew Freidman being calculated this offseason (by possibly targeting trades instead of free agents) or is he truly trying to take a break from the luxury tax?
Anthony Franco
4:50
Definitely seems like they want to dip back under the CBT to reset the tax bracket and load up for next offseason. They can accomplish that by prioritizing trade and lower-cost but productive free agents like Syndergaard and JDM without getting meaningfully worse
4:51
It's not the most exciting offseason the Dodgers will ever have, but it's fine. Still think they're the division favorites, maybe the best team in the NL
Jason
4:51
which version of Trevor Rogers is closest to reality: 2021 or 2022? still enough upside to target in a trade?
Anthony Franco
4:52
I think the 2021 version of Rogers is closer. Still throws hard, don't think he just completely forgot how to throw a changeup that was his bread-and-butter pitch for a while
4:53
If Miami's serious about rather moving him than Pablo, then yeah, other teams should very much be in on that
Curt
4:53
Are you surprised Drury didn't get more?
Anthony Franco
4:53
Not really. He feels like a slightly worse version of Eduardo Escobar, who got 2/20 last year. Think it was fair value
John
4:54
I’m on a live chat slump. This would snap my o-fer. What is the Orioles plan with the infield for the future? Gunnar, Westburg, Ortiz, Holliday, Mayo, Urias and Mateo make up a ton of organization depth. Could we see westburg, Ortiz, or Holliday traded this summer?
Anthony Franco
4:54
Guessing Mateo eventually gets traded. Westburg probably ends up at second base. Some of the prospects will naturally filter themselves out of the mix by not meeting expectations
4:55
Including one of Westburg or Ortiz in a midseason package for a starter if they're in the playoff hunt feels viable. Don't see it with Holliday
Dalton Wilcox
4:55
What might the Royals ask for Nick Pratto?
Anthony Franco
4:56
Don't think it's a great time to try to move him unless they've soured on him completely. Guess they'd probably look for an interesting starting pitching prospect if they did that
Yard Goats Fan
4:57
Will the Rockies do anything? Something? Please?
Anthony Franco
4:58
Rough offseason, yeah. Just doesn't look like they had much payroll flexibility. They were projected for a franchise-record payroll coming into the winter, and it doesn't seem ownership wants to push much beyond that
They will add some MLB help, probably a middle reliever to replace Estévez and a Michael Taylor type via trade to play center field
4:59
I don't think they'll do anything that makes them better than anyone else in their division. They're paying the price now for the Bryant deal and the weird urgency they felt to extend Senzatela, Freeland, Elias Díaz, etc.
Too Kuhl for Clubs
5:00
Why isn't there a demand for Chad Kuhl?
Anthony Franco
5:00
Atrocious second half unfortunately
5:01
Wouldn't surprise me if he's limited to minor league deals. I've always liked Kuhl and thought the Rockies did really well on that one, but it kind of imploded down the stretch after a great start
Trop drop and roll
5:01
Who’s catching in TB this season?
Anthony Franco
5:02
Guessing they'll bring in a glove-first type like Barnhart or Roberto Pérez to work alongside Mejía
Alright that's all I have time for today. Have to take over site coverage from Darragh
5:03
Thanks for all the questions, sorry for the stuff I couldn't address
