I've thought about this but I don't have a good answer. Too much uncertainty about how the virus will proceed over the next few months
Rob

If you’re the jays, do you trade Moreno (plus stuff) for Jose Ramirez ?
Anthony Franco
8:53
Yes but I don't think Cleveland would do it
Hooah.
8:53
I would like to see MLB go back to just a four team post season. This wild card is BS. Let alone a 16 team post season.
Anthony Franco
8:54
I like the current system well enough but it seems like additional expansion's happening. I'm just hopeful it stops at 12 instead of 14

Would 4 years/$50 million AAV with an opt out after year 3 get Correa’s attention?
Anthony Franco
8:54
It depends on his priorities. Some guys prefer maxing out over long term, others are more comfortable with that kind of risk/reward play
8:55
But if Correa is willing to take a short-term deal, these terms would probably get his attention

can Patrick Sandoval repeat last years performance? Do the metrics support he can be better?
Anthony Franco
8:56
I think so, as long as he's healthy. The swinging strike numbers he posted were absurd
I was also in the stands for his best start of the season and watched the Twins flail at basically every changeup he threw, so I'm all in

Who are the best remaining back end relievers?  As a Cards fan I feel they need at least on more guy that can stop a rally in it's footsteps.
Anthony Franco
8:57
Not a ton left in terms of name value. Kenley Jansen's the big one. Andrew Chafin, Joe Kelly, Ryan Tepera
Paul
8:58
Given the Trevor Story’s drastic home/road splits, how do you think he’ll do elsewhere?
Anthony Franco
8:58
Fine. Rockies' hitters have a tough time on the road because the ball breaks different at Coors
I'm actually more alarmed by Story's RHP/LHP platoon splits than I am the H/R stuff

Yoshi Tsutsugo a sleeper for the homerun crown in 2022?
Anthony Franco
8:59
Ha, that's a real deep pull. I don't see it, particularly not in that park
Arbitration
8:59
Any predictions on how the arbitration compromise shakes out
Anthony Franco
9:00
I think they keep the arb system but players eventually get there after two years instead of three

Does the MLB pLay a FULL season in 2022???   Thank you for the chat!
Anthony Franco
9:00
I believe so. Still think there's too much money at stake to give up the season

What do the Rays do with me?
Anthony Franco
9:01
I'm sure they'd be open to a trade in the right situation, Rays basically are with everybody (except Wander). But I'd guess he opens the season splitting time with Díaz and Bruján at third
9:02
Could see him being part of a deadline deal if he's not playing regularly over the first few months though
John
9:02
Would you agree with me that rivalries, not bat flips, draw attention to the game? Nothing beat early 2000s Yankees/Red Sox. This coming from an Orioles fan. Pedro vs Clemens was must watch tv.
Anthony Franco
9:03
I wouldn't pit bat flips and rivalries against one another. I think they're each appealing to different kinds of fans
Help! I'm locked out!
9:03
Anthony, be honest - when readers criticize your mistakes (or what they think are mistakes anyway), does it bother uou?
Anthony Franco
9:04
Depends on what the mistake is. If I had a stupid typo, put a player on the wrong team, etc., then yeah I'll be annoyed with myself
9:05
If it's that the reader values pitcher wins or a hitter's RBI totals more than I do, then not really. That's just a philosophical difference, and we all engage with the game in different ways. That's fine

Cubs were interested in a Hosmer trade near the deadline, do you think this is still a possibility?
Anthony Franco
9:06
Sure, they've got the payroll flexibility to do that kind of "Hosmer plus a prospect for contract relief" thing
Cubs
9:06
If you could have only 1 of Schwindel/Wisdom/Ortega, who would you take going forward?
Anthony Franco
9:06
Frank
Bob T
9:06
Do they move DJ to first and trade Vout?
Anthony Franco
9:07
I don't think they want DJ playing first everyday. He's still alright at second and third base, relegating him to the bottom of the defensive spectrum feels like a bit of a waste
9:08
I think a Voit trade's more likely because they re-sign Rizzo or trade for Olson than it is because they want LeMahieu there
Spencer Torkelson
9:08
Who are your ROY favorites at the moment?
Anthony Franco
9:09
Bobby Witt Jr. and Keibert Ruiz
Conforto
9:09
The White Sox neeeeed me right?
