Could use a lefty bat who can mix in at first base or in the corner outfield. Dom Smith or Jared Walsh bounceback, they're a viable fit on Max Kepler
Tying back to the last question, I think Oakland's Seth Brown would fit well there

Explain when a newly signed free agent can be traded I've heard June but I can't find the rule
Anthony Franco
4:28
They get automatic no-trade protection until June 15
Can be dealt earlier if they agree to waive the clause. Joely Rodríguez did this last offseason to go from the Yankees to the Mets
Barbarino
4:29
Either Brandon Belt or Trey Mancini would be a nice fit on the Cubs, right?
Anthony Franco
4:30
Yeah they're both decent fits. Would like Mancini a little more since that'd easier shelter Mervis from left-handed pitching once he breaks into the mix

Which SP in Miami do you suspect gets traded prior to opening day?
Anthony Franco
4:31
My completely random guess here is Braxton Garrett

4:31
Is Brandon Lowe a Ray on opening day? If the Rays falter, is he a Ray the day after the trade deadline?
Anthony Franco
4:31
Yes to both
Brian Cashman
4:32
Who is my starting left fielder come Opening Day?
Anthony Franco
4:32
(Yankees)
Simon took a longer look at this on Monday
I'd guess a veteran stopgap type like David Peralta or Ben Gamel
Rafael Devers
4:33
Who is Twins Opening Day starting SS?
Anthony Franco
4:33
Seems like it's going to be Kyle Farmer at this point
Angry Hamster
4:33
Do you see the Guardians trading Zach Plesac or Amed Rosario before the season starts?
Anthony Franco
4:34
Could see one of Plesac or Civale still. Looks like they're holding onto Rosario

4:34
Does Tampa try to extend Glasnow or hope for a good return on a trade in the next two years?
Anthony Franco
4:35
Don't need to do either. Just play out the first year and a half and if you're in it at the 2024 deadline, finish the contract out

Orioles still haven’t gotten that mid-rotation starting pitcher. Which players could go in either direction in a potential trade with Miami for one of their starters? Also, any chance Mancini comes back on a one year deal to help regain his value in a place where he’s performed well?
Anthony Franco
4:37
Could see Austin Hays having appeal to Miami. He's probably stretched in center field but they were trying Bryan De La Cruz and Jesús Sánchez out there this year and he'd be better than either of them

Lot of people think the Mets are in the NL East drivers seat, but I don't see it.  Even if they agree with Correa, they still need a bat I feel, and their pitching still is kind of suspect what with age, etc.  I think they would be dumb to get rid of Corrasco, as they need depth.  What say you about the pitching and hitting situation for the Mets?
Anthony Franco
4:38
They're a very good team, particularly if they land Correa. Rotation's age and durability concerns are real but it's also as high-upside a group as there is in MLB
4:39
The top of that division is the best in baseball and I'd probably give a slight edge to Atlanta of the group, but the Mets, Braves and Phils all look like 90-plus win teams to me

Any word on whether the Mariners are looking to sign Profar?  Seems to fit their need for a corner outfielder, but the free agency silence is deafening.  Thanks!
Anthony Franco
4:41
Not sure Profar's enough of an offensive upgrade over the guys they have in-house to bother. Probably have to turn to trade for a Kepler or Santander type if you're not going to just give it to whoever of Kelenic, Trammell or Haggerty plays the best
4:42
They make sense as a Bryan Reynolds suitor obviously
Hopeless
4:42
How can Twins fans be excited for next year? The team has statistically gotten worse and the front office seems to be banking on perfect health
Anthony Franco
4:43
Tough offseason so far but there's more coming via trade. Have to deal one of the outfielders and they'll probably bring in some bullpen help
4:45
Generally speaking, though, I get it. It's a fine team but not an especially exciting one and there's a lot of health red flags. Just banking on a breakout or two from the group of Larnach, Lewis, Kirilloff and the pitching prospects and a generally weak division that allows you to hang around the playoff mix without a great roster
Matt Arnold
4:46
Am I going to sign anyone this off season?  If so, who do you think makes the most sense?
Anthony Franco
4:46
(Brewers)
4:47
Could use another veteran bat in the outfield to play the McCutchen role. AJ Pollock or Chad Pinder, someone like that
Rafael
4:48
Could Adley Rutschman get $200 million in a contract extension if he got one today?
Anthony Franco
4:49
Assuming he's willing to sign into his 30's, yeah. The Julio Rodríguez deal would be pretty reasonable for Adley's camp to try to beat
Newman

We hear a lot about hitters who will benefit from the new shift rules, but what about pitchers who have benefitted the most from the shift. Which pitchers will miss it the most?
Anthony Franco
4:50
Haven't given this a ton of thought but it's an interesting question. Obviously ground-ball pitchers are going to most impacted, probably ones who throw right-handed since the shift's best at neutralizing lefty hitters
