Is John Means a for sure goner if he performs well?
Anthony Franco
3:36
Yeah if he gets off to a good start, I think he's gone at the deadline. He'll be 29 by then with two and a half years of control, I'd move him
But I think that might be their last "big" seller move. At that point, the core guys are all fairly young and controllable and the rebuild needs to end within the next couple years
Brad
3:37
What would a realistic non-Julio package look like from the M's to acquire Bryan Reynolds?
Anthony Franco
3:38
If the Pirates were to make Reynolds available, then something around Noelvi Marte and Brash or Hancock would probably get talks rolling
But Pittsburgh has really shown zero inclination to move Reynolds. I'd be shocked if he's not still a Buc on Opening Day
Josh
3:39
Tommy Pham's been posting workout videos all winter and saying that he couldn't do anything last winter after he was attacked. Thoughts on him as a bounceback candidate?
Anthony Franco
3:39
Yeah I think he's interesting. Generally speaking, I like to bet on guys who make contact and hit the ball hard. Pham has always done both of those things
Red Sox fan
3:40
Can someone please explain the Renfroe for jbj trade?  Are the guys coming back really that good to have gotten rid of right handed power hitter that Sox are lacking
Anthony Franco
3:41
I wasn't a huge fan of it from the Red Sox's perspective really. They want to upgrade the defense, though, and they obviously don't think the true offensive gap between Bradley and Renfroe is nearly as big as it was last year

Would Crochet and Vaughn land us Montas?
Anthony Franco
3:42
Probably but I wouldn't give up that much
3:43
And I love Montas, but it'd be really hard to pry away Vaughn from me if I were in Rick Hahn's shoes
Dave Roberts
3:43
Will I resign Trea Turner
Anthony Franco
3:43
I think the Dodgers are the favorites on Turner, if not during Spring Training than next offseason
3:44
Seems like they think he's a better player than Corey Seager (I'd agree) and the long-term books are actually pretty clear. It's basically just Mookie and Taylor past 2023
Artie moreno
3:44
Who will be my ss
Anthony Franco
3:45
(This is about the Angels)
They're running pretty low on options. I guess Nick Ahmed, maybe Amed Rosario's available
The Ghost of Nuke LaLoosh
3:46
Where do you think Greinke will sign, and for how long?
Anthony Franco
3:46
He's only getting one year. Atlanta and SF stand out as fits to me
2022 Season
3:46
Hello.  I would rather be canceled than have to deal with the DH in the National League.
Anthony Franco
3:47
I think the universal DH is an inevitability, whether they cancel the 2022 season or not

WIL MYERS -- Would the Blue Jays be interested in Myers as a 3rd baseman ??  How well does he play there ?  Could the Jays get a good prospect from the Padres for taking on Myer's contract ?
Anthony Franco
3:47
Myers hasn't played third base since 2018. It's creative, but I don't think he's a legitimate option there

3:48
Where does Kumar Rocker get drafted in the 22 draft? If his medicals havent changed, is he a worth-it gamble for the Tigers at 12?
Anthony Franco
3:48
Obvious caveat that I have no idea what it is about his elbow that the Mets balked at
3:49
But yeah, if a new team's medical staff gives him the go-ahead, getting him in the 10-15 range would be great value IMO
Dipoto's Double
3:49
Which team got the better value? The Mariners with Robbie Ray or the Jays with Gausman?
Anthony Franco
3:49
I think Toronto, just because they didn't need to include the opt-out clause. Seattle gave Ray one after Year 3
3:50
I do think Ray's the better pitcher, though, and I'd have rather had him at 5/115 than Gausman at 5/110 if neither guy got the opt-out
Alex Anthopoulus

Your prediction of Freeman leaving the Braves doesn´t look so crazy right now (albeit the interruption brought by the lockout). Do you think there will be a rapid resolution once the lockout ends, as reported by Rosenthal?
Anthony Franco
3:51
Pretty much has to be, I think. Teams are going to have move quickly to figure out the first base situation
If Freeman doesn't sign within, say, the first three days of a frenzy, how many teams pivot to going all-in on Olson or settling for Rizzo just to make sure they're not left in the cold entirely?
3:53
It would be pretty funny if Freeman leaving ATL -- the prediction of mine people thought least plausible at the start of the offseason -- was the only thing I was right about. The rest of my picks have been awful haha
Houzer
3:53
who says no .. Tigers send Jackson Jobe to the Twins for Austin Martin
Anthony Franco
3:53
This kind of prospect for prospect thing just doesn't happen. Wish it did more often, because they'd be super fun
3:54
I imagine teams are split on which of those guys they'd prefer. I'd rather have Martin but doubt that's a universal opinion
Ronan
3:55
You know what's frustrating for fans? We know that MLB and MLBPA are going to extend this out and land on a deal very close to where they are right now. So much of this is theatre and it's stupid.
Anthony Franco
3:56
Yeah, it's not a fun time. Steve, Tim and I have talked about this a lot internally. The lack of progress is super frustrating
