Is tebow better than we originally thought? If he was a "normal player" what level in the minors could he get to?
Mark P
11:09
If he was a "normal player," he wouldn't have been signed in the first place.  I'll give Tebow credit for making a serious go of baseball, and he's obviously quite the athlete to be doing as well as he is.

But don't forget, he's also a lot older than his minor league competition.  It's not quite like that Seinfeld episode where Kramer is in the karate class fighting little kids ("but Jerry, we're all at the same level!"), but it isn't totally dissimilar

We should have a team.  We got screwed.
Mark P

The Yankees and Mets would never allow it due to territorial rights, but man, it would be awesome to see Brooklyn get another team.  The Dodgers had a lot of names before becoming the Dodgers (Robins, Bridegrooms, Grays, Superbas) that a new Brooklyn team could choose from.

Alford going north with the Jays?
Mark P
11:13
Probably not, since he still hasn't done anything even at the Triple-A level.  But if I'm the Jays, I'm giving Alford a long look in the majors in the second half.  Time to see what they have in him

Why aren't the Yankees interested in Keuchel? SPs (especially ones CCs age) are injured all the time. A 5 man rotation needs at least 6 guys now. Sign him as #3 starter and move CC to 6 and they both get regular time anyway as everyone is injured all the time.

Yankees seem to feel like their rotation work is mostly done, though they're looking at guys like Gio out of due diligence.  Signing Keuchel would be a much bigger commitment, even on a short-term deal
Nice, Gary!!
11:16
Why didn’t AA sell high on his dozen pitching prospects this offseason? The majority of prospects don’t pan out, and Braves have already seen a few bust
Mark P
11:17
AA is also the same guy who dealt Noah Syndergaard for R.A. Dickey, which didn't work out great for him.  Once bitten, twice shy.
In Cashman we trust
11:17
Who do we bring in if severino and cc still can't go by the end of April?
Mark P
11:18
Not sure if they make a move quite that early.  They have enough internal options to get by until closer to the deadline when more guys will be available
11:20
With that, it's time to wrap things up.  Nice chatting, everyone!  See you at 8pm CT next Sunday night
