Thanks for answering my Question, it doesn't happen like ever...which I get because the chat host is so busy. So...Thanks!
Mark P

No problem!
Terry Francona
9:15
What do you think of the twins and will Smith?
Mark P
9:16
Gemini Man is getting pretty bad reviews
(Serious answer: I'm sure the Twins will check in on Smith as a free agent)
Cash Man
9:18
Any chance they build a trade around Stanton/cash for Hosmer?
Mark P
9:18
Stanton can veto any trade, and I'm not sure the Padres would want a player they couldn't eventually put into a DH spot.  And why would the Yankees want Hosmer?
Halos Hopeful
9:19
Could the Halos gamble on Michael Fulmer from Detroit? Think he's available for a reasonable ask? Maybe Fulmer for a slew of our "meh" level prospects?
Mark P
9:20
The Tigers are surely hoping to get more than "meh" level guys.  Rather than sell low, their plan is likely to get a healthy Fulmer back in 2020 and then hope that he pitches close to his old form
AA
9:21
In your opinion, did Atlanta fail?
Mark P
9:22
Nope.  Division title, and lost a tight first-round series that went the full five games.  I think Atlanta's loss is being perhaps a bit overblown just because Game Five was such a rout.  The Braves are still in great shape to contend in 2020 and for the foreseeable future
Bummed
9:22
Total cop out on the Kris Bryant question.  When I saw that Q pop up I was really anticipating your answer.
Mark P
9:23
Sorry!  I just don't think he's going to get traded.  I can see the Cubs being busy this winter, but I doubt they're going to make any blockbusters involving the core (Bryant, Baez, Contreras, Rizzo, Hendricks) of their team
Dodger Truth
9:25
Why are people surprised by our early exit? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that our team is built with depth, to thrive over the length of a marathon like season. However, we're just not built for the sprint of the playoffs. The Dodgers will not win a World Series again until they change philosophy. They'll continue to make the playoffs, but only to let us down.
Mark P
9:26
Like I said earlier, the Dodgers were a few bounces away from winning the 2017 Series.  So it's not like they're getting blown out every October or anything.

I do question the Dodgers' insistence that they have all this pitching depth, only to then seemingly ignore so much of it come the postseason.  Why rely on Kershaw, who has shown he's a shaky playoff performer, when you have Kenta Maeda in the bullpen for just such a situation?

Granderson as a DH/platoon/leadership/hometown addition to the South Side of Chicago. Is this homer nonsense or a good fit for a squad with no production from the OF apart from Eloy?
Dave
9:28
Does Mike Moustakas finally get a multi year deal this off season and what does it look like?
Mark P
9:29
Oops, forgot to answer that Granderson question.  My answer is....sure!  Grandy makes sense as a veteran clubhouse guy anywhere
9:30
As for Moose, I'm not sure what else the poor guy has to do to land even a two-year contract.  It doesn't seem like much to ask for someone who's been a consistently solid performer over the years.
9:32
Time to call it a night, we'll be back next Sunday night for another chat!  Thanks for all the questions!
