but as a general rule, I don't do too much bad-save spec'ing, unless I desperately need to do so because of the category gains
I find I can usually make up more ground in the ratios, then by chasing bad committees
11:20
oh yeah,

At this point in the season, have you had a better track record hanging on to potential, streaming hot bats, or going with steady contributors – you can only pick one

Also - where are you on Isaac Collins? Will he keep producing at the levels of L30 or do you expect regression to his MiLB stats with less power?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:22
steady contributors
11:23
as a general strategy, I try to fill my lineup with the steady guys, so I can do most of my streaming/risk-taking on pitchers
11:25
I always expect regression from young hitters, but I don't Collins is going to stray too far from what we've seen at recent levels -- .270ish AVG, with 15ish HR (I'd take the under) with 20+ SBs
gets on base a ton, so R+RBI will be fine when playing everyday
11:26
not "regression proof" but it's the type of balanced profile that shouldn't give you a big cliff

How would you rank these SP’s ros? Nola, Ober, Schlittler, Sheehan, Zebby and Bradish? (Also not liking those @Tor starts for Ober and Zebby early next week, first week of playoffs in my league)
Nicklaus Gaut
11:28
Nola > Ober > Sheehan > Zebby > Schlittler > Bradish
Don't love the Ober start either, but don't think it's neccessarily an avoid

Asking again since it’s closer to lineup time: Scoresheet playoff lineup I can use 4 SPs. Which 4 should I use: Gore, Pepiot, C Holmes, E Perez, S Gray, A Nola or current IL member P Lopez? Deadline to set lineup is Sep 1. Thanks!
Nicklaus Gaut
11:30
Nola and Gray for sure
third is tricky
because Gore is tricky
but I still think I'd roll with him (Pablo 4th)
I believe in Jésus
11:32
Will Jésus Sanchez ever get another hit?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:32
starting to wonder!!
can't even blame the drought on lefties
he's just been bad

Are you ready for the Nate Lowe Renaissance in Boston? Does he top Christian Walker in an obp league?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:33
absolutely
always be ready for the most boring renaissance ever, when it comes to Nate Lowe in OBP
11:34
still rather have Walker tho

Do I drop J Ortiz if/when Lawlar comes up? If/when might that happen?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:36
I'm keeping Ortiz. Sexy guys like Lawlar can always blow up, but don't short just how good Ortiz has been lately
.338/.384/.441, .361 wOBA in August 14 R, 12 RBI
Keepers Help
11:37
In 5x5 with keepers, do you generally prefer to keep half hitters and half pitchers or do you base it on your roster and cost in the next season?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:38
I don't worry too much about the positional split.
I'm basing it all off the talent/cost
Pete
11:39
Does Robert Suarez opt out of his Padres deal this offseason?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:39
who's his agent?
okay, not Boras
11:40
he probably should
surely can get more than an $8 mil aav, even if it's only two years
Wetherholt Callup?
11:42
Hi Nicklaus. Are you buying the Cardinals’ GM cooling off Wetherholt getting called up, or is it a smokescreen?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:42
I think it'll be right at the end of the month
hopefully, August 27th, because I'll be there
