Which two of these hitters would you want on your playoff roster this next month? Crews, Beavers, McNeil, Lewis, Keith, Chapman and Robert?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:44
Crews and Robert, by a lot

Do Ferrer and Topa look like their respective teams closers for ROS?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:45
looks that way

3 man bench, deep daily moves leagues. Most of my bats are starters, but those categories are tight, esp runs and steals. WHIP is the tightest pitching category. Worth having 2 bench bats to toggle into days off, or better to have 2 RPs who can just be in the lineup regardless?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:46
depends on how tight WHIP is. If you can realistically make up a lot of ground, I'd favor the RPs
in my experience, I've found a lot of gains to be made late in WHIP
11:47
like a LOT of seasons where you could realistically move up 5-6 spots with a few hundredths of movement
buffy, the umpire slayer

Has the time come to totally ignore RoS projections and exclusively look at "what have you done for me lately" numbers? My final opportunity to change my player roster is September 7. By then, I am of the belief I should only look at the past 30 or so day numbers but I am curious just when RoS numbers essentially become unnecessary.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:48
you can't solely rely on recent numbers, in particular with R+RBI, given the possibly crazy levels of variance
11:49
what I'm weighting most heavily is recent playing time/lineup spot
11:50
ros numbers this year are most useful in giving you reasonable 'rates' of production that you can then apply to the reality of their current situation

Is A Vaughn fixed? Picked him up cheap ($7, NL-only keeper roto 5x5, 20% inflation, $260 auction budget). And what would you expect from M. Gore next year? He is confusing.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:51
I don't know about "fixed" but you have to keep him at that price in NL only
And Gore is 100% confusing
11:52
but I'm still on the "his occasional stretches of being a complete gas can are due to his youth/general malaise of being a National" train
It's a very specific train

I’ve been disappointed in Strider recently as a SP and we are in our playoffs.  Should I replace him and possibly Sonny Gray with Luzardo, Priester, or Drew Peterson?   Hunter Btiwn and George Kirby look fine.  Your thoughts?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:55
I just don't think you can roll him out as a playoff starter
7 ER to the CHW has to be the nail
I'd rather have luzardo

Roster space is limited.  I had Clase paired with Pagan.  I also have Tanner Scott.  My question is do I drop Jo Jo Romero when Scott comes back?  I picked Romero up to try and grab a save or two, but it looks like its opportunities are dwindling.  I could also drop Vodnik, but he seems to be getting opportunities even though they don't win much.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:56
my condolences
so much Clase in my life this year
I'd rather roll the dice with Scott

Wheels seem to have come off for Slade C. Drop for Perkins or an RP (Cano? Brash?)? (Saves only league)
Nicklaus Gaut
11:58
I'm not dropping him for Perkins
and only for an RP if you have ground to gain in ratios
11:59
but also not starting him @TEX
Langford at leadoff?
12:00
What do you think of this?
Nicklaus Gaut
12:00
Looks like they're listening!
been there the last two
can't see why it's a bad idea to give it a shot

Need help in ERA/WHIP…do I drop Gallen for a RP?
Nicklaus Gaut
12:01
depends on your RP options -- but yeah, should definitely be on the table
Rae
12:02
Would you go with R Rodriguez or J Estrada ros? (SVHD league). I’d think it’s Randy since he’s got the closer job but the Giants have been so gross
Nicklaus Gaut
12:02
Yeah, think it's Randy too -- just gotta ignore the grossness, I guess
The Exit Plan
12:03
Trying not to jump off the Jasson Dominguez train in dynasty but Yankees don't seem to believe in him. And if you can't beat out Trent Grisham, that's a bad sign. Thoughts?
