180-200 innings with a mid-3.00 ERA, middling strikeout rate, good control and ground-ball rate. That's basically who he is... can't see him taking any kind of significant step forward, but he's 28, so no reason to expect a huge decline or anything either.

Teams, for whatever reason -- lack of strikeouts? so-so velocity? -- don't seem to value him much, even though he pretty consistently gets decent results. I don't have a great answer, but based on his handling with the O's/Dodgers and the lack of interest this winter, there's something about him that doesn't appeal to a large number of clubs. I'm guessing the lack of strikeouts. He'll make a nice add on a Minors deal for someone.

Yeah I still chat with him pretty frequently, and it's fun getting together with him at the Winter Meetings if we're both there (though that's happened just once thus far, ha)
