Really excited for Lucas Giolito to eventually surface with the Nats. Jose Berrios in Minnesota, too. But Giolito's the more traditionally exciting power pitcher.

He joked last year about playing till he's 50. I'd imagine as long as clubs are willing to sign him and as long as he's a remotely competent bat, he'll have a job. I don't think he needs to worry too much about tarnishing his legacy -- he's going to go down as one of the best hitters to ever walk the planet.

Looks like I've got one more in me! Loney hit .294/.342/.404 in 1250 plate appearances from 2013-14. He's never been an elite bat, nor will he be, but he was competent at the plate just two seasons ago... suggesting he should be out of baseball is silly.

Doesn't accomplish anything for the Reds. They want young, controllable pieces in exchange for the guys they trade away, as would any rebuilding club. Getting one year of a 35-year-old CJ Wilson doesn't help them.

I quit coming to the live chat because I never get answered. (I know there is a million questions you have to go to so this is not a complaint) But here is my question......... You said you do not see Houston going into the season with their current situation at 1B. Do you not have faith in AJ Reed? He has crushed minor league pitching. Other than him being this years Carlos Correa and spending the first part of the season in the minors to assure he does not reach Super Two status, can he not be Houstons plans at 1B this year?

I said earlier in the chat as well that Reed will eventually come up. But the Astros have waited until Super Two status in the past, as you alluded to. Adding a first baseman to play regularly (or close to it) for the first two months makes a lot of sense and protects against injury as well. I do think Reed will come up this summer and I have no real reason to expect that he won't hit.

Nope. They're not even free agents yet. Still need to establish residency in another country and be declared FAs by the league. Might not even sign before the end of the '16 season.
