Any chance the NL adopts the DH within a couple years?
Steve Adams
4:40
I guess there's a chance, sure, but I don't see it happening in the near future.
Matt E
4:40
What Red besides Votto and Phillips are you actually excited to see, if any?
Steve Adams
4:41
Raisel Iglesias looks really good. I like Eugenio Suarez for them as a second base option once Phillips goes. Lots of interesting young arms.

4:42
drifting into obscurity here, but where do you think Chris Denorfia lands?
Steve Adams
4:44
I embrace the obscure! Denorfia's tough just because when you're talking about guys signing MiLB deals, they can land virtually anywhere. I wouldn't have picked David Murphy to go back to Boston due to their crowded OF situation, but he still signed there. Denorfia would make some sense in Cleveland to platoon with Chisenhall in right field, especially with Brantley hurt and Almonte suspended.

Where do you think the Indians rotation stacks up in the American League?
Steve Adams
4:45
At the top, especially if Bauer has some semblance of control, like he did for awhile in 2015.
CBA
4:45
I don't remember so many issues being played up to the degree they are leading up to this next year's CBA (international spending, QO, service time issues, etc). It seems like every couple of weeks something is being played up for this, the only major thing I recall played up leading into the last one was type A/B system. Do you see significant change in the upcoming CBA?
Steve Adams
4:47
Social media has become much more expansive and really made it easier to make some noise heading into this CBA than the last one, which probably aids that perception. I think the QO system is going to get a face lift, for sure. Service time issues are nothing new... doubt there's much of a change on that front. The international pool/slot system has been an abject failure, so there should be some significant alterations on that front, too.

Seattle has struggled to find a dependable first baseman for a while now. You're thoughts on the Lind deal?
Steve Adams
4:48
A Lind/Lee or Lind/Sanchez platoon should be rather productive. I loved getting Dae-ho on a minor league contract for them. Of course, they'll be looking again next year with Lind hitting free agency.

Boras has to be holding out for stupid money for AJax, no??
Steve Adams
4:50
Perhaps. The down time in Seattle probably hurt his reputation... I'm surprised there wasn't $10MM on a one-year deal out there for him, though maybe there was earlier this winter when they were still seeking multi-year deals. I don't blame him for turning down 5-6 from the Angels if they weren't going to give him everyday at-bats. If he's looking at re-entering next year's free agent market, he can't take a gig where he's on the short side of a platoon.

Who has more value Bautista or double E?
Steve Adams
4:53
That's a pretty vague question... Bautista's the more valuable player for the upcoming season, but given their respective ages, Encarnacion could have more earning power at present.

4:53
Whats stopping the Phillies from throwing 5M at Freese, moving Franco to 1B and dumping Howard?
Steve Adams
4:53
I would support that move if they went that route, though they probably want to leave Franco at 3B as long as they can, even an eventual move to 1B is likely.

Former Yankees prospects Jake cave is steal for Red? Can he replace jay Bruce ?
Steve Adams
4:55
Bryan Price has talked about him as a reserve guy this spring. I wouldn't expect him to become a regular in Cincinnati.

Totally disappointed we couldn't get Desmond. 8mm we should have been able to afford, and our park and SS's lengthy down time would have given him a chance to rebound as a MIF for next year's market.
Steve Adams
4:56
I'm pretty surprised they weren't more heavily linked to him, but maybe they really feel like Story can step into Reyes' spot once he's inevitably suspended. The rest of their moves have been acting like contenders, though, and Desmond probably makes them better.
Rethinking
4:57
Most people note how much Diamondbacks overpaid for Miller. Who do you think would have been a more fair return for that package? Would that have been good enough to talk someone like Quintana? Sony Gray?
Steve Adams
4:59
For what they gave up, they should've gotten someone like Chris Sale. Sox aren't shopping him or anything, of course, but that's the type of package they surrendered. Miller's a fine pitcher and all, but if he ends up with a mid- or upper-3.00s ERA (that's my expectation), it's going to become even more obvious that they paid for an ace and got a mid-rotation arm.

Will the Rockies flip Qualls, Motte, Reynolds and Mcgee at the trade deadline?
Steve Adams
5:01
They don't really have a history of trading veterans for prospects, for some bizarre reason. Hopefully the Tulo trade was the beginning of a trend under Bridich, because there's zero excuse for not having traded Morneau, Cuddyer, etc. when their values were higher.
I suppose to O'Dowd's credit, he did try to trade Jorge de la Rosa before Monfort nixed the move.

Do you think Pedro A. will rock Japan for a year?
Steve Adams
5:02
Alvarez could probably be a king in Japan or Korea. His power would make him a rock star there. I think he'll sign with an MLB club though.
5:04
Ok, I have to call it for the week. Thanks for chatting everyone. I'm on Twitter (@Adams_Steve) if you want to throw more questions my way, and Jeff's back from vacation so his Thursday chat should be back on. Enjoy the rest of your week!
