I wouldn't be surprised if Anderson were called up in the next week or two. We're approaching the point of the season where clubs stop worrying about Super Two status, he's hitting well in AAA, will have 250 PAs or so there, and should be a dramatic upgrade over Rollins/Saladino

Yeah he's having a brutal day, but the one poor outing probably doesn't cause the Sox (or any other interested party) to suddenly back off, unless he looks injured or something. And I haven't seen anything suggesting that he's out there lobbing it up at 86-87 mph today

How much do you put into a guy just needs the right situation, could Cashner flourish with Bosio and the Cubs system? Like Arietta?

Not to rag on the Orioles, but I just don't think they're a good situation for most pitchers with the way they reportedly dictate which side of the mound a pitcher throws from and discourage certain pitches. I think Zach Britton himself recently said that the O's just didn't let Arrieta pitch his own game because they have a certain mindset as to how it should be. Cashner isn't exactly in a situation where tons of other pitchers have gone to die, and Arrieta scenarios shouldn't be banked upon,

All that said, the Pirates deserve some credit for continually resuscitating pitcher careers.

They've repeated the act enough for me to buy into a guy putting it together when he goes there, and free agents that sign with them have said as much.
