Connor Byrne

No. Their first concern should be getting back to .500.
Erik
6:17
what do you think is reasonable for Donaldson?  2 years 48-50 million and 3rd year option for around the same dollars that kicks in with games played?
Connor Byrne
6:18
Not a bad thought. I think something like that for a 2-yr deal or maybe 3 yrs, mid 60s if he gets more length
RayBolt
6:18
Hi Connor. In your opinion, has A.J. Preller done enough in 5 full years to warrant any further confidence? Other teams have rebuilt in less time.
Connor Byrne
6:19
I'd give Padres GM A.j. Preller one more year for the club to show actual progress. If they're bad again, get out.
Mr T
6:19
What are the odds the Astros re-sign Cole?
Connor Byrne
6:20
They don't seem very high, as the club has payroll concerns https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/10/astros-rumors-luxury-tax-gerrit...
Cubbies
6:20
Considering that JBJ was one of Theo’s last draft picks in Boston and the Cubs need for a CF, is it possible he ends up in Chicago, by way of trade or free agency
Connor Byrne
6:20
Not a bad fit if the Cubs can squeeze in his roughly $11MM salary.
Mr T
6:21
Do you think the Astros will win AL West if they don’t re-sign Cole?
Connor Byrne
6:21
They'd be the favorites. Cole or no Cole, there's still a ton of talent on that team, and GM Jeff Luhnow would probably sign some far cheaper guy to come in and put up a 3.00 ERA over 170 innings
Lone star
6:22
Do you think the Rangers throw their cowboy hats into the Cole Race?
Connor Byrne
6:22
I think they'll at least kick the tires (you all love asking about Cole, not that I blame you)
The Theo
6:23
Should I bank on my ability to find pitching outside of the organization and deal Hendricks? Lots of value and should get a good return without breaking up the "Core 4".
Connor Byrne
6:23
Kyle Hendricks is probably one of the few untouchable (or close to it) members of the Cubs' roster
Brandon
6:24
Sign a Didi, Grandal, Osuna. Trade for Ken Giles, K Marte.  Reds set for 2020?
Connor Byrne
6:25
I'm guessing you mean Ozuna, not Osuna, and Starling Marte (Ketel's not going anywhere). That seems like a logical bunch for the Reds to be in on, though they obviously won't be getting all of them
Bradley D
6:25
Is anybody going to surpass the contract Anthony Rendon should get? $225 million to start?
Connor Byrne
6:26
I'm having a very hard time deciding whether Rendon or Cole will get the richer contract. It's something we at MLBTR have been discussing (and will continue to discuss) as we prepare our top 50 FA predictions.
Always right.
6:26
Calling it. Nat's and Houston in the world series. Nat's take it all.
Connor Byrne
6:27
There you go, folks. No need to watch any more postseason games. "Always right." has weighed in.
Trixie
6:27
Will the Tigers do anything over the off-season to dramatically improve their team, or will 2020 be another rebuilding year?
Connor Byrne
6:27
Another lean year for Detroit
marlins
6:28
will we sign gerritt cole pls say yes
Connor Byrne
6:28
This would be hilarious
Dennis
6:28
Does Kluber have much trade value after injury this year?
Connor Byrne
6:28
He definitely still has trade value, but the Indians would be selling low. I don't see it happening.
John
6:29
“When I tip, you hit. You put your bat up on my pitch”. Glasnow tipping his pitches a quick fix right?
Connor Byrne
6:30
Yeah, tipping pitches isn't necessarily something to panic about for the long haul. If that's actually what happened to Glasnow vs. the Astros, I wouldn't worry. Still one of the best young starters in the game. I hope he stays healthy next season.
Alex Wood
6:30
What kind of contract should I expect?
Connor Byrne
6:31
I'm guessing a one-year deal in the 5-10MM range. Could be a steal if he holds up.
Dark
6:31
Hasnt 2019 been a crazy year? First the Blues suddenly turn arround and win the Stanley Cup, and now the Nats might just do the same. Go figure.
Connor Byrne
6:31
Don't remind me of the Blues, please. The Sabres handed them the Cup with that idiotic Ryan O'Reilly trade. ROR is phenomenal. Let's trade him for nothing!
Michael
6:32
I think Joe Espada would be a sneaky good hire for the Cubs.
Connor Byrne
6:32
He seems to be a very well-respected guy
Todd
6:32
Does Hahn, sign Castellanos for left hand DH and sign an on base right fielder? 2 tier 2 starting pitcher like Wheeler and ?
Connor Byrne
6:33
Castellanos (and the other top FA outfielders) is someone I could see the ChiSox being in on, especially since they also need DH help. Wheeler's certainly another fit. I think they'll at least explore Cole, but hard to bank on them spending that much on one guy.
Dark
6:34
Whoops, sorry about that one Connor. Didnt know you were a Buffalo guy
Connor Byrne
6:34
Hahaha, no problem!
WillReuter88

When are the Orioles a playoff contender again?
