I know Donaldson had a much better 2019 than Riley but we are talking about 2020 and couldn't the distance be cut enough to justify using the Donaldson, Keuchel, McCann and Teheran money to make a run at Cole or Strausburg?
Connor Byrne
7:04
If it means getting Cole or Strasburg, fine, but I definitely don't see that happening
Michael Scott
7:04
The Office or Parks & Rec?
Connor Byrne
7:05
Damn. I'm taking The Office, but you can't lose either way.

Who are some sp free agents the royals could go after this offseason?
Connor Byrne
7:06
Nobody of great value. Kyle Gibson?
Aaron Judge
7:06
Do you agree with me that the Yankees' season was a failure?
Connor Byrne
7:07
No (not that I'd expect Judge or any other player to say anything else). They won 100-some games and an AL East title despite myriad injuries, and then nearly won the pennant.
Mets
7:07
Are we really contenders
Connor Byrne
7:08
How much are you allowed to spend this offseason? Doesn't seem like much: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/10/the-mets-payroll-predicament.ht...
Cubs Idea

Are the Pads a good trading partner for Contreras? And if so, is Hedges, Lamet, and a comp pick a fair return for him?
Connor Byrne
7:08
That's not enough for Contreras
Ammiel
7:08
Bum get 4 yrs?
Connor Byrne
7:09
He's a legit candidate for something like 4/70-80
Brooks
7:09
Can we expect to see more of the same as this from Tommy Edman in the future or are his minor league numbers a better indicator of his future?
Connor Byrne
7:10
I was looking into his #s the other day. I'm skeptical he can keep up this type of production, but I think he's a valuable player either way. Always nice to have a guy who can hit respectably and play multiple spots (at a cheap price to boot).
Joe Buck
7:10
Why do people hate me so?
Connor Byrne
7:10
I don't mind you, Joe, if that's any consolation
Rick Sutcliffe

Cubs ditch Q and offer G. Cole 5/175 and Strass (assuming) 5/150. Both deals get back loaded to account for Lester's deal ending
Connor Byrne
7:11
Not enough for Cole. Should be able to get a guarantee at least upward of 220 (over a longer term, granted).
AGMLA
7:12
Can you see both Will Smiths on the Dodgers in 2020?
Connor Byrne
7:12
Absolutely, and it would be fun to see one pitching to the other

7:13
If the Phillies sign Strasburg or Cole, either Donaldson/Moustakas, and Cole Hamels, can they take down the Braves and Nats in 2020?
Connor Byrne
7:13
Sure, but that's a lot to ask
Gary Sanchez
7:13
Any chance Yanks consider trading me?
Connor Byrne
7:13
Problem is, who'd replace him? The only potential upgrade in FAcy is Grandal, who will cost a pretty penny.
Tommy
7:14
When and where are the winter meetings?
Connor Byrne
7:14
The 2019 Baseball Winter Meetings will take place Dec. 8-12, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, California.
thanks, Google!

Personally I despise Ron Darling as an announcer
Connor Byrne
7:15
Really? I like him a lot, as do seemingly most people.
Cleveland Crew
7:16
With Lindor’s time running out doesn’t it make sense for the Indians to move some of the excess pitching for an impact hitter?
Connor Byrne
7:16
I think it makes more sense to try to get a haul for Lindor

There you go, person who asked about this earlier

Over/Under Cole signing on January 15th, 2020
Connor Byrne
7:17
That's tough, as big-time Boras clients have a habit of hanging out there for a while (Harper, Arrieta in recent years). I'll say under, though (as in earlier)

Jeff Francoeur was pretty good as an announcer, and he had the right perspective when Hudson took his paternity leave. Does he have a future as more than just a Braves announcer?
Connor Byrne
7:18
He should. Frenchy was impressive.
