I like the idea, but if the Rox are bent on winning in 2020, they'll probably keep him
Theo
6:47
Is Q's option a slam dunk?
Connor Byrne
6:48
Jose Quintana? It should be ($11MM, I think). Could be a trade candidate, though.
Aroldis Chapman
6:48
Am I a Yankee next year? If not who pays me?
Connor Byrne
6:49
My guess is yes, though I don't think Chapman will stick with his current deal (2 years, 30 mill).
Dodgers, Nats among teams that could pursue him if he doesn't stay a Yankee
Carlos Tevez
6:49
What kind of contract do you see for a  guy like Zach Wheeler? How much will the potential QO hurt him?
Connor Byrne
6:50
This is a wide range, but nothing from 70-90MM would shock me. Eovaldi got 4/68 last year, and Wheeler has been better (though Eovaldi didn't have a QO)
Trixie
6:51
Your World Series prediction?
Connor Byrne
6:52
The Astros are better, so I'm taking them in 6. However, the better team obviously doesn't always win these series.
Alex A
6:52
Why not Riley at third and use the money spent on Donaldson to buy a front line starter? Difference in offensive production couldn't be that different.
Connor Byrne
6:53
The difference between Riley and Donaldson was huge this year. Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos doesn't seem ready to hand Riley a starting job: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/10/alex-anthopoulos-on-donaldson-r...
Todd Frazier
6:54
Will my locker be in Philadelphia next year?
Connor Byrne
6:54
I could see the Toddfather as a fallback 3B option for Philly, but they should aim higher first (Rendon, Donaldson, Moustakas)
Thornton Mellon
6:54
First what kind of deal do you forsee Odrizzi getting?
Connor Byrne
6:55
3 years, low 50s
pettifers picks
6:56
are the red sox conceding the division next year to the yankees with all this trade talk?
Connor Byrne
6:56
Not sure I'd say that. They're still plenty talented. We'll see what happens in the offseason.
Branch Rickey
6:56
Who could be a trade partner for Pirates Matte and/or Polanco ?
Connor Byrne
6:57
MLBTR's Jeff Todd wrote something on possible Marte fits a little bit ago: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/10/finding-a-match-in-a-starling-m...
I'm not sure now's the time to trade Polanco after an injury-ravaged season
Randy
6:57
What's the chance that the Reds ship Inglesias to Oakland for Marcus Semien? your thoughts.
Connor Byrne
6:57
OAK wouldn't do it. Semien was one of the best players in the game this season.
juan carlos mendez
6:58
zack wheeler to yankees, Does it make sense? what about 40 millions to Gregorius for 4 years?
Connor Byrne
6:59
I could see the Yankees after Wheeler, as they did pursue a trade for him in the past. Don't see Gregorius getting a 4-yr deal (I've soured on his free agency in recent weeks).
Joey Votto
6:59
Any chance I have a bounceback year, or has Father Time taken its toll?
Connor Byrne
7:00
I'm not going to bet against Votto, one of the greatest and smartest hitters ever, to find a way to bounce back
Nick
7:00
Most likely pitching target for Angels after Cole?
Connor Byrne
7:00
Strasburg if he opts out. They need to get one of those two.
Jesse
7:00
How would you handicap the Mets chances or resigning Zack Wheeler? Does the QO give them any advantage?
Connor Byrne
7:01
Extremely slim. I think that ship has sailed.
Brad Hand’s Hand
7:01
Who should be the Padres opening day catcher? Austin Hedges has proven he’s not a major league hitter.
Connor Byrne
7:01
I'd let Mejia sink or swim
JD
7:01
Joc Pederson and Ross Stripling to the Indians for Kluber.  Who says no?
Connor Byrne
7:01
Cleveland
Brad Hand’s Hand
7:02
How many wins does it take for AJ Preller to save his job?
Connor Byrne
7:02
I think they at least need a .500 season
Preller = Padres GM
Timmy
7:02
What team's GM is on the shakiest ground right now?
Connor Byrne
7:03
All of these guys seem to be in some trouble going into 2020: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/10/mlbtr-poll-executives-under-pre...
