Connor Byrne
4:27
he has a high floor with his mix of defense and passable offense
Opinion Poll
4:27
Personally, I think Odorizzi gambled on himself after the 2019 and lost, and now he's trying for the contract he would have gotten then but that ship has sailed after a miserable 2020.
Connor Byrne
4:28
You could be right, but I'm still not ruling out a decent multiyear payday (thinking of Alex Cobb a few years back)
The Show
4:29
Why do I keep seeing Mike Trout tumble down the best player rankings? Betts, Soto, Tatis, etc are amazing but how can anyone not see Trout is already one of the generational great?  Also, why would you put Bellinger above him? I just don’t get it.
Connor Byrne
4:30
It's weird, but when you're the best player for so long, sometimes you become underrated. That said, I'm inferring that this is a fantasy question, and I'm hardly an expert in that area.
Sandy
4:31
If there is no DH who should I trade Dom or Pete?
Connor Byrne
4:31
Smith is more likely, but they'll just keep both and wait for the inevitable uni DH in 2022
they being the Mets
Jim
4:32
So how ARE the Brewers going to juggle four outfielders?
Connor Byrne
4:33
High-class problem. Avi Garcia can play a couple times of week when one of JBJ/Yelich/Cain gets a breather.
Jon
4:33
Do you think Bonds, Clemens, and/or Schilling make the Hall next year in their final year of eligibility?
Connor Byrne
4:34
I'm not optimistic, but I think all three should be in
Cashmoney
4:34
Ok the Yankees stay healthy all year what’s the win total
Connor Byrne
4:34
101
4:35
I think PECOTA's at 99, so close enough
MN Twins
4:36
Am I actually worse than the White Sox? Better rotation too, right?
Connor Byrne
4:36
I think it's pretty much a tossup between those two, and I'm still not totally counting Cleveland out.
but if you made me pick right now, I'd go White Sox for the division
Dale
4:37
So a whole team is gonna stay healthy all year?
Connor Byrne
4:38
of course not. I think the questioner was implying "no major injuries," like the ones that have dogged guys like Judge, Stanton, Kluber, Taillon and Severino of late
Connor
4:38
Who do you think is the most underrated player in MLB? People used to say Freddie Freeman but I think his MVP has squashed that now.
Connor Byrne
4:38
I'm a big David Fletcher fan
Don
4:39
Royals 81 and 81 any chance?
Connor Byrne
4:40
Probably mid to high 70s, but at least they tried this offseason when so many others didn't.
Jacoby Ellsbury
4:40
Any chance the Yankees ever look back at the Stanton deal and say "That might have been a bad decision"?
Connor Byrne
4:41
They probably already do - not because Stanton isn't good, but he's missed a lot of time and is basically a DH going forward.
Andrew Friedman
4:42
Only 2 get to stay on the big league roster: Rios, Beaty, McKinstry, Lux.  Who are you picking?
Connor Byrne
4:43
I'd probably take Rios and Lux for the Dodgers. Luckily, all of those players have options left.
The Vision
4:43
Reds will win the NL Central. That is all.
Connor Byrne
4:44
Any non-Pirates team could win it. I'll probably write up a poll on the subject soon.
The Reds' offseason stunk, though
Travis d'Arnaud
4:45
Which player do you think puts up the most WAR over the next 20 years?
Connor Byrne
4:45
Off the top of my head, Tatis, who has 6.5 fWAR in 143 games and just turned 22
The Vision
4:46
I'm not trying to be a jerk or a wise ass...this is a serious question. What is it about David Fletcher that you like so much? He certainly has some value, but the guy has a career slugging percentage of .386.
Connor Byrne
4:47
Not a power hitter at all - you're right - but he hits for average, gets on base, rarely strikes out and is a good/versatile defender.
4:48
Also doesn't hurt that he's cheap
Giants Hopeful
4:48
Have the giants chances improved with the recent bullpen acquisitions?
Connor Byrne
4:49
With expanded playoffs unlikely, I don't see it. The Dodgers and Padres will own that division.
and the NL East/Central obviously have multiple playoff candidates of their own
Ancient Hamburger
4:50
Which NL West team has the best chance to break through the Dodgers/Padres duopoly over the next five years?  Giants with their wealth, D-Backs with their brains, or Rockies with their, uh, whatever they've got?  Or none of the above?\
