I haven't seen any of The Boys, actually.  Haven't been totally wowed by either WandaVision or Falcon/Winter Soldier, but both are okay shows.
Kansas Rangers

Texas should be looking to cash in on Gibson’s decent pitching right now and unload ASAP, no?
Mark P
9:58
Other teams aren't going to suddenly make huge offers for Gibson based on three starts, but if he keeps pitching anywhere close to this, he'll definitely be a nice trade chip for the Rangers at the deadline
Tim

Chris Sale..... when do you expect him to return?
Mark P

Late June/early July, based on the usual Tommy John recovery timeline

Is it time for Yankee fans to put all of their energy on the Knicks - winners of six straight - and let tourists waste their bucks on this bad baseball team?
Mark P
10:01
Putting faith in the Knicks hasn't been a good idea since the early 70's.
Jesse
10:02
Crazy that the Mets are playing well despite all the scheduling issues. But the offense looks suspect. 9 runs all weekend in Coloradon with only one HR? Concerning or still early?
Mark P
10:02
Still early, especially for a team that has had so many stops and starts in its schedule.

If you were a player, what's your walkup music?
Mark P
10:03
As per my usual answer of "whatever is playing on my iTunes shuffle at this very moment," my walkup music is......Bridge Over Troubled Water.  How intimidating!

Why are the Yankees so enamored with Aaron Hicks? A lifetime sub 240 ave hitter, offen injured. To bat him 3rd in the order is quite puzzling to many of us.
Mark P
10:05
I think their logic is that a switch-hitter like Hicks can break up the string of right-handed bats early.  He's off to a bad start this year (like pretty much everyone in a Yankee uniform) but Hicks isn't a bad hitter by any means.  Not a big average guy, but good OBP and power numbers when he's healthy

10:06
Am I open to an in season extension with the Mets and what in your opinion gets the deal done?
Mark P
10:07
Barring a truly enormous offer from the Mets, I doubt Stroman takes an extension when he's so close to being an unencumbered (i.e. no qualifying offer) free agent.

Will the Angels game against my rangers be PPD I haven’t heard anything I think that they are going tests LAA right?
Mark P
10:08
To my knowledge the COVID concerns are only with the Twins.  The Angels are scheduled to play tomorrow against Texas as planned

What rebuilding club do you think is closest to actual contention
Mark P
10:09
If the Giants still count as a rebuilding club, I'll pick them.

Dombrowski condemned Detroit to YEARS of terrible baseball, and a ridiculous contract with Miggy when there was no competition for him..    Do not let him off the hook..
Mark P
10:12
The Cabrera extension was an ownership call.  And don't forget, the Tigers were already having "years of terrible baseball" before DD took over and turned them into a regular contender for the better part of a decade
10:13
Not saying that Dombrowski's track record is perfect, but he's had a whole lot of success

Is Tejay Antone generating any buzz outside of a certain small city in Ohio? Stuff is filthy.
Mark P
10:16
He was good enough in ST that I kind of wondered if the Reds would put him in the rotation, but he seems to be excelling in this current role.
Depressed Cubs Fan
10:17
Do the Cubs have a plan? Seems like they’re going the post 2014 giants route of cutting costs but keeping a few of the most marketable players, just to get fans in the seats and little else. Is there a method to the madness?
Mark P
10:19
They're not quite the same as the Giants, who declined more rapidly whereas the Cubs were in the playoffs just last year and have still been posting winning records.  But overall, you're not wrong, it seems like they held onto this core for too long or put too much faith that everyone would turn it around en masse.  And around that core, not a lot of other notable upgrades were made.

Honest opinion of the Dbacks so far, with all the injuries taken into account?
Mark P
10:22
They're better than their record would indicate, since they have had a lot of key people missing.  But the D'Backs had an uphill battle already in the NL West, and it's very hard to have an "we need everything to go exactly right" kind of season just to make the wild card game.

Jay Bruce retired. Matt Carpenter next?
Mark P
10:25
I don't see Carpenter walking away from the rest of the money he's owed this season, but yeah, he has not looked good at all.  If I'm the Cardinals, I have to start questioning whether he's worth using on even a semi-regular basis.  It's unfortunate since Carpenter was a really good player for so long (and underrated, if anything), but his decline started almost the minute the Cards signed him to that second extension
Oddball
10:26
With the Nats starting pitcher woes, is Anibal Sanchez going to get a call?
Mark P
10:27
I wouldn't expect vintage 2019 Anibal, but as a familiar guy who can eat some innings, I can see a reunion happening

Any love for the A's in the weekend chats? Pretty impressive getting off the mat after the 0-6 start, eh?
Mark P
10:30
A perfect example of the "it's still early" answer.  At the chat two weeks ago, there were lots of questions already calling the A's season over and wondering if Chapman, Canha, etcl could be trade candidates

It would definitely be interesting to see how the Blue Jays would be doing if they had Springer, Hernandez, Yates, Pearson, Hatch, Romano, Merryweather, Chatwood, and Stripling all healthy. Do you see them going on a tear when they start to get some of these guys back?
Mark P
10:31
The Jays are doing their best to tread water given all the injuries, and the fact that nobody on the team besides Vlad or Bichette are hitting at all
