Hey Mark, your chats are the most engaging. Thanks for doing them. If Baddoo is a legit prospect, what do you think of the Tigers signing an outfielder this offseason and rolling with Baddoo/Greene/FA. Might the M’s swing a deal with us involving Haniger trade + extend for a SP prospect? Likewise, do any FAs come to mind? Thanks again!

Probably too early to consider Baddoo as a starting OF/building block just yet, as fun as his story is.  

If the Tigers make some decent progress this year (say, only having closer to 90 than 100 losses) and some of their young guys show some real immediate potential, I could see them taking a "step forward" kind of acquisition.  Maybe someone with more control than a Haniger, or someone that could actually be on the next contending Tigers team if they want to fully turn the corner going into 2023 or 2024.

This all said, it depends how the 2021 season shakes out.  The Tigers have been pretty conservative with this rebuild thus far, so I would expect they'll need evidence at the MLB level before assuming their prospects are ready to roll

My thought on Corbin's 2020 was that he might have been impacted by the extra innings of the 2019 playoff run (not to mention all the other weirdness of 2020), and that he'd be back to normal for this season.  Unfortunately, this read may have been off.

Strasburg may simply just have trouble staying healthy.  The number of injuries (and the variety of injuries) is really adding up here

Are the minor leaguers in some sort of a camp now?  Given the lack of competition last year, do you expect some "out of nowhere" surprise call ups in July/August?

Other than the guys at the alternate training sites, I believe the rest of the minor leaguers are working out at extended Spring Training

I’ve always got huge debate in this. I think if the pitcher makes an error and the run scores , it should be an earned run, thoughts ?

That would seem to make more sense, eh?  If the whole point of having errors is to make for a "fairer" accounting of the pitcher's numbers, then it would make sense that he is fairly punished for making his own error

Everything.  I swear I'm not making a glib answer here, I think the league and the MLBPA will fight tooth and nail over every little detail.  Look at something like the universal DH, which should've been pretty easy to implement but nothing happened.

Between Baez's performance since the start of the 2020 season and the Cubs' desire to cut payroll, I have a hard time seeing a QO being offered.

It’s hard to believe Justin Turner went unsigned for so long. He has been phenomenal so far and no signs of slowing down. 2021 MVP mark it!

I think the reason he went unsigned for so long wasn't due to any real lack of interest from other teams, it was probably more due to the fact that everyone figured he'd wind up back in L.A.  If a team had actually jumped and given Turner a four-year deal, he would've left, but all things being equal, he was likely 90% or higher always leaning towards the Dodgers
