will the Giants sign a big FA in the offseason?
Connor Byrne
7:32
We've got Ozuna going there. He's pretty big by this year's standards.
FS
7:32
Any chance Nationals go after Cole instead of Strasburg?
Connor Byrne
7:33
Yes, there is. The Nats have the money. I'm guessing they'll try to keep Rendon and Stras first, though.
Brain Blast
7:34
MLBTR should have a reverse chat: you guys ask questions and the best responses are posted
Connor Byrne
7:34
Kind of reminds me of Jim Halpert's two-way petting zoo idea.

does donaldsons QO hurt his market like we saw for players last year or after the production this season he had does it matter?
Connor Byrne
7:36
Not a bad idea for a poll question ... finding out who's likeliest to get hurt by a QO. Donaldson's an older guy with injury issues in his past, so he is a logical player to get dragged down by a QO. However, MLBTR has him doing quite well on the market.
Sam
7:36
Is Jackie Bradley jr the most likely to be traded to help the Sox stay under the luxury tax
Connor Byrne
7:37
I'll be pretty surprised if they keep him, especially with so few viable CFers on the FA market. Teams that strike out on Starling Marte could easily call BOS for JBJ.
Philly A's
7:38
Do the A's trade Siemian if they cant extend him this winter?
Connor Byrne
7:38
No
Trout wants a ring
7:38
The Angels need Grandal as much as at least two quality starting pitchers don’t they?
Connor Byrne
7:39
Well, they're not getting Cole/Strasburg AND Grandal, and one of the two pitchers should be the main target. They could settle on someone like Castro, d'Arnaud or Chirinos behind the plate for a lot less money if they get one of the aces.
Yoenis Céspedes
7:40
What are the chances I don’t play any games next season?
Connor Byrne
7:40
Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen seemingly doesn't even know the answer to this
Fredbird
7:40
Odds Ozuna accepts Cards Qualifying Offer
Connor Byrne
7:41
I think he's one of the QO'd players who should very seriously consider it
Big Beefer
7:41
Why would the Giants want Ozuna? Their problem isn't the OF anymore, right?
Connor Byrne
7:41
They absolutely still need OF help, and pres. Farhan Zaidi has spoken of a need to add more power to their lineup
YeliMVP
7:42
Thanks for the chat! What do you see the Brewers doing at first base after they jettisoned Eric Thames, and have no obvious internal solution?
Connor Byrne
7:43
As always, thanks to everyone for participating! Off the top of my head, I like Justin Smoak as a buy-low type.
hello
7:43
Mets biggest need?
Connor Byrne
7:44
New ownership? On the field, bullpen, back of rotation/starting depth and CF come to mind.

Jerk
Connor Byrne
7:45
I'm not that bad, Pete.
Sam
7:45
Market on Brock Holt?
Connor Byrne
7:45
We've got him in the 2/8 range.
Hawk
7:45
What are the chances the Reds sign Grandel
Connor Byrne
7:45
They're about as logical a fit as anyone.
Steve
7:46
Does Felix Hernandez get a contract anywhere? He wants to play and he said his last start showed he can still compete
Connor Byrne
7:46
Probably a minor league deal if anything, which is sad to say.
Tony Rendoni
7:47
Answering multiple questions about Ozuna, but none about Rendoni.. what gives? Am I not the biggest, baddest bat on the market?? Your top 3 destinations for me, excluding DC:
Connor Byrne
7:48
I'm pretty sure I answered a question(s) about Rendon before. If not, here you go. Either way, Rendon will outearn most of these other guys put together, so he's doing fine. I expect him back to the Nats, but if not, Rangers, Phillies are a couple teams that could make sense.
Question Guy
7:49
Do you think a lot of people read up on your last article and ask you a question about it all the while knowing the answer to their own question in an effort to get said question answered in the chat?
Connor Byrne
7:49
If they do, I admire their dedication. I don't even know the last article I wrote.
Curly W
7:50
I can’t imagine Nats fans booing Rendon if he goes to Philly the way they did Harper this year.
Connor Byrne
7:50
Booing Harper was dumb. Booing Rendon would probably be even dumber.
Nick
7:51
Smoak at 1B? Can't MIL move Braun there & put Grisham at LF allowing them to put the Smoak money toward the rotation?
Connor Byrne
7:52
Yes, they could, and pres/GM David Stearns has already said Braun to 1B is possible. It wouldn't be a bad idea if they're confident Braun can play there and Grisham can take an everyday OF spot.
