Beyond SS, we obviously need SP.  What about a trade for Bassit or Manea in Oakland or Gray in Cincinnati?

Bassitt/Manaea are more likely targets, since the A's are in more of a payroll crunch.  Detroit's open payroll allows them some flexibility in dealing with the A's specifically.....just a guess on my part, but imagine if Detroit offered to take Andrus off Oakland's hands along with Bassitt or Manaea?

It doesn't strike me that the Tigers would trade from their prospect depth after working to rebuild it, so "taking on money" types of deals might be more feasible

In general, it's not a good move to hire the manager before hiring the PBO/GM.  Especially since the Mets seem to be in need of having someone come into the organization with a clean slate and get rid of a lot of the baggage

The Marlins can get a lot more than that package elsewhere if they shopped Alcantara (which they probably aren't, given the extension talks)

With renewed optimism surrounding Team Payroll (Greg Feasel said payroll will return to 2019 levels in 2023) - could Semien and Chris Taylor provide stability to CF and SS for the foreseeable future in Colorado?
Doe it increase our contention window?

While payroll may be back to 2019 levels by 2023, Feasel hinted it would only modestly grow this winter, so I'm not expecting any huge splashes from the Rockies
