Connor Byrne

I'd probably do it from the Angels' perspective, but I can understand why they'd be hesitant. I can also understand why the Tigers would make that sort of request.
Hi y’all
6:30
Senzel for Andujar and Frazier.  Fair trade?
Connor Byrne
6:31
Where's Andujar playing in Cincy? They've got Suarez at 3B and Votto at 1B. No DH option.
WhiteSoxFan33
6:31
Collin McHugh? Add to the pen while having starter experience for depth.
Connor Byrne
6:31
Yet another buy-low guy I like. Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure McHugh was solid in relief last season (and he was downright excellent before that).
Nicholas
6:31
What other moves can the White Sox make?
Connor Byrne
6:32
I'm on board with a Will Harris signing
Christian
6:32
Any chance with their current roster the brewers can make the playoffs?
Connor Byrne
6:33
Yes. I had the Brew Crew dead and buried twice last year - when they didn't acquire a high-end starter at the deadline, and when Yelich got hurt. I know better than to count them out now.
Brandon
6:33
The Reds have to much major league OF depth don’t they?
Connor Byrne
6:34
As of now, it sort of comes off as quantity over quality to me. They're not exactly teeming with proven MLB OFers.
Mark
6:35
Who is the best option available if the Braves lose out on Donaldson?
Connor Byrne
6:35
Probably Washington. I said the Rangers to start the offseason, but they've reportedly backed away.
JNogle
6:35
I know it's not a move the fans will like but doesn't it make more sense for the Dodgers to just wait until the trade deadline to make any sort of move when the cost would be lower? Not like they'll need help until the latter half of the season anyways
Connor Byrne
6:36
I don't think that's a terrible idea. The Dodgers could do absolutely nothing else and still enter 2020 as one of the favorites. Their fans are (understandably) upset after years of playoff failures, but that's stiil a great team as is. And someone like Lindor might be a more realistic midseason trade target anyway.
Cubs fan
6:37
Are we going to do anything noteworthy and am I allowed to be frustrated?
Connor Byrne
6:37
You're definitely allowed to be frustrated, but whether they'll do anything seemingly depends in part on the Bryant ruling. The Cubs seem kind of frozen without knowing whether he has 1-2 years' control left (granted, they're expected to win that ruling)
WheresWahoo
6:38
Who do you predict will be manning shortstop for the Indians after July?
Connor Byrne
6:39
Hard to say because I think the Indians can keep Lindor and make a real push in their division.  So, I'll be a wimp and say Lindor.
Jackson
6:40
Any chance the Angels trade for Salvador Perez?
Connor Byrne
6:40
Nope. I'm sure the Royals want to keep him, and they'd be selling low anyway after his injury-ruined 2019.
Ken
6:40
Best pitching lottery ticket for the Twins - Walker, Wood, J Nelson, Salazar?
Connor Byrne
6:41
I like Wood the most, but it's worth noting their FO has some Salazar connections from Cleveland
Jeff R
6:41
How much of the salary do you think the Angels would need to absorb to make a deal for Price? Or could they get San Diego to add one of their young proven pitchers and take on Meyers and have him platoon with Pujols at 1st and play some RF? They can't out score every opponent 12-11.
Connor Byrne
6:42
I don't see them as fits for Myers. Price ... maybe by eating half his money? That would be 3/48, which is right in line with the 3/55 Keuchel just got.
L Dub
6:42
Connor: Who do you envision the Marlins signing in relief? And would you say so far 75 wins is the over/ under for 2020?
Connor Byrne
6:44
Probably nobody at the top of the market (i.e. Will Harris). Liriano? Buchter? Strop? Someone like that. And 75's a lot for a team that only won 57 last season, so I'll say under.
Dark Helmet
6:45
Boyd isn't even guaranteed to be a #3 starter.  I wouldn't trade a top prospect for him, if I'm a club.
Connor Byrne
6:45
That's fair enough. He's enticing, but the results haven't really been there & it's not as if he throws extremely hard or anything.
The wrath of hahn
6:46
Explain the Keuchel bust? Guy is gonna give them 200+ innings first two years for sure with a 60% GB rate. Not Sox fault Wheelers wife said no to Chicago...
Connor Byrne
6:46
I just haven't been impressed the past couple years, but if he proves me wrong, good for him.
Cards Fan
6:47
I shouldn't expect the Cards to do anything noteworthy the rest of the offseason, should I?
Connor Byrne
6:48
They, like the Dodgers, are well-positioned right now. If their fans are annoyed by a lack of offseason activity, fine, but that's a good team. To answer your question, keep your expectations for the rest of the offseason down & maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Bleacher Creature
6:48
If he would approve trade, Stanton for Myers? Padres get middle of the order bat, Yankees get long term salary relief.
Connor Byrne
6:49
Stanton's way better than Myers, and I don't know how worried the Yankees are about saving money after they just spent $324MM on a pitcher.
Chris
6:50
Seems like trading Segura, installing Kingery at his best position, and singing a stopgap like the Toddfather til Bohm is ready would be the best use of the Phils resources, both money and talent wise.  Not many teams looking for a decently paid SS though, how bout the Reds?
Connor Byrne
6:50
Segura's better than Frazier, though. From their POV, I'd rather just let Kingery play 3B until Bohm comes up and then move Kingery around the diamond.
Rangers fan
6:51
Are we going to do anything noteworthy and am I allowed to be jumping for joy?
Connor Byrne
6:52
Another Starling Marte candidate. Other than that, C, 1B, 3B stand out as needs. So, the Rangers should not be done. Not sure I'd be "jumping for joy," but that's at least a nice rotation they've built this winter.

Will a team give 2 years to Taijuan Walker, or is he only going to get a 1-year deal?
