I don't think they'll trade either unless another team really steps up with a bold offer.  The O's aren't out of the part of the rebuild where they can afford to call anyone untouchable (apart from Adley) in trade talks, but Mullins and Means are both quite high on that list

On the contrary, I think having one more superstar year and retiring might have cemented any doubts about his case.  Posey might not be a first-ballot guy but I suspect he'll get into Cooperstown without much of a wait

Corbin is owed $72MM through 2024 (with some of that money not immediately owed as per the Nationals' usual web of deferreals).  Hosmer is owed $59MM through 2025, and he has a 10-team no-trade clause.

So assuming Hosmer doesn't have the Nationals on his list or he's open to going there, a trade seems workable, though some other minor leaguers or even big league players will have to be included to work out the money.  

Also, in terms of pure luxury tax matters, I'm not sure this trade exactly does a ton to lessen either team's number.

Why isn’t Kenny Lofton a Hall of Famer? Over 2400 hits, career .372 OBP, and he’s 63rd All-time in runs, all playing CF where he won 4 gold gloves. Seems too much emphasis is placed on power not enough on rarer speed/OBP combo

I'm not sure I'd ultimately put Lofton in the HOF, but he absolutely should've gotten a much longer look on the ballot.  I think he lasted only one year and didn't get even five percent of the vote, due to the crowded ballots of the last decade

I'd lean towards Bryant, just because I think his versatility helps address many potential issues for the Mariners.

I kind of like/dislike other teams on a case by case basis, depending on whether or not they have a cool story going, or if they have a player I particularly like, or if they haven't won in a while.

Teams I have soft spots for include the Tigers, Guardians, and Pirates.  It also helps that I've attended multiple games at those ballparks and had a great time, to boot.

I know the Twins have extended Buxton and they signed Donaldson a few years ago, but Falvine have yet to pay a pitcher north of $10 MM except, I believe, one year Odorizzi got a QO. There were a lot of good arms signed for less than Ervin Santana money back in 2015, which is a Twins record. Is it possible this front office simply does not believe free agency can help? The formula ain't working. The one great year appears to be an outlier.

In fairness, the Twins have made big offers on other free agent pitchers, but were just outbid.  But, the Twins' books are relatively open beyond this year, so there's no reason they couldn't make a play for a longer-term acquisition if they feel it's a fit (and the pitcher wants to come to Minnesota, too)

According to the latest reports, Schwarber is looking for "only" three years and $60MM, so the Marlins should absolutely be willing to pay him at that price.

There hasn't been buzz on Kershaw other than re-signing with the Dodgers or signing with his hometown Rangers.  Going to another team doesn't seem like a possibility, though he would fit Atlanta's model of short-term veteran signings

As I'm not familiar with Suzuki's social media, is he following or not following any other teams?  That might be more of a hint than his sudden unfollow of the Sox, unless one of his advisors told him it might not be a good look to be following only one team.

If you're a player on the Pirates or Orioles, what possible incentive do you possibly have for those extra games?  Why would pitchers want to put extra innings on their arms just so their teams can have a better chance at drafting their replacement?
